is it enough

You would think that waking up by the side of a lake, having just cried for hours would make the girl exhausted. It would make her docile in some way. Possibly more lenient in forgiving both the Cushings and Kents.

You would believe that wanting to be back in an actual bed would be enough motivation for her to run back to them. She could just let go of all her feelings and carry on with her life as usual. She could be normal again.

But Tilly wasn't normal.

Her life wasn't normal.

Instead of doing any of that, Tilly woke up just as angry. If anything, her emotions had merged into unfiltered determination for answers and the frustration she felt for those she trusted was only fueling it.

The beauty surrounding her didn't do too much to help. The varying shades of green hitting her irises and the shimmering water did nothing to calm her down once all the memories hit her. Nothing else mattered right now, she needed to get back to the Kent Farm and demand for them to provide her with sufficient answers. Or else Morgan Edge and her father would be the least of their worries.

With a stride that would make confidence itself quiver, Tilly made her way through the forest shrouding the lake and onto the nearby roads. Her phone had no battery left so she didn't know exactly the time however the morning light and chirping birds gave enough of an indication.

As Tilly continued to make her way past the crop fields that surrounded the Kent Farm, she felt her hands begin to shake a little. What was going to happen this time? Just last night Clark turned her away – who's to say it won't happen again.

She could make out the sounds of drilling coming from the barn beside the main house and silently questioned what was going on. What would the Kents be building? Why would they be building anything when they have Superman?

If she had thought that she was being fueled by determination before, knocking on the door sent a whole new flurry of emotions through her. This time, there was going to be no stopping her. They were having this conversation and she was not going to take no for answer. Especially not after last night. Clark owes her after all.

There was no care spared by Tilly for the way she looked. Whilst you wouldn't exactly say her appearance was disheveled, it wasn't exactly what you would call 'her'. The clothes on her form were the same as the day prior, her hair was somewhat messier than what would be considered a usual style choice and the makeup on her face wasn't freshly applied as usual. It was obvious that she didn't spend the night somewhere particularly nice. It was unnerving for those such as the Kents who had only seen her in one particular form.

As the door swung open, Tilly felt something within her shift. Maybe it was instinct, maybe she wanted to be a bitch to them, maybe it was a few different factors. But Tilly felt herself fall back into the girl she was when she came back to town.

Old habits die hard.

A confident, knowing smirk settled on her lips as she met the eyes of the man who turned her away the previous night.

"Is now a good time to chat, Superman?"

There was concern and almost shock on his face as he stared at the girl before him, guilt hitting him full force as she stood simply staring at him. He wasn't sure if she was still angry, upset, disappointed or all of the above, but he expected to deal with those emotions when he next saw her. Clark wasn't exactly expecting to deal with her acting so... would smug be the right word?

No.

Something more like... self-satisfied. She held the cards, and she was going to be leading this conversation, whether they liked it or not.
