The Yule Ball ft the first task

Since the announcement of the Tri-Wizard tournament the school was in excitement. All except Anertha, not only was her brother going to enter but the twins were going to attempt to break whatever rules to enter. God knows how that would end. The morning Cedric put his name in the cup, Anertha has begged him not too. 'Please Ced, don't be stupid. do you know what could happen? You could die!' Cedric rolled his eyes at his sister. 'Come on, you sound like mum, relax sis.' He smiled childishly at her. 'Ced, come on man, leave the Gryff alone, she's not worth it.' Came a voice from his Hufflepuff mates. Cedric frowned at them, 'That's my sister!' He snapped. They were soon quiet. 'Thanks.' Anertha muttered. 'Family first right. Now, smile and let it go, I may not be picked.' He hugged her and left with his group. Anertha had been so distracted, she didn't notice Fred and George enter the great hall, and the commotion that followed. She heard laughter erupt from behind her and the chants, 'Fight! Fight!' She turned to find two boys with white beards rolling around on the floor. It took her a moment to click on, then she rolled her eyes when she realised it was Fred and George. 'Stop it!' She hissed at them as she placed herself between them. The boys sat on the floor glaring at each other, then burst into uncontrollable laughter. Anertha sighed, she really wasn't in the mood for the twins right now, but the sight of them old did make her smile slightly. 'Come on, get up' she began to help them up, 'you look ridiculous,' she frowned, resisting the urge to say i told you so. 'Glimpse into the future, still want Fred now' George winked. Anertha rolled her eyes yet again, if there was a muscle for eye rolling, she was sure to pull it. She didn't answer George as she pushed them out of the hall towards the common room. The twins exchanged a look that she ignored. 'How long will this take to wear off?' She inquired. 'Not a clue' Fred pursed his lips in thought. 'Lovely' she muttered.
Over the next few weeks, Anertha's bad temper got worse. Cedric, as she feared, got chosen and she was struggling to see the cheerful side. Matters were made worse after the first task. So consumed it what she had seen with dragons, she chose to spend the next few days with Cedric afterwards, much to Fred's annoyance. 'I've barely seen you!' He would complain continuosly. 'Family first Fred, imagine if it was George.' She would snap back before she stormed away, their relationship becoming increasingly strained.

There was still a frosty air between Fred and Anertha as they made their way to an old classroom. 'Why do we have to gather in a room with everyone? I'd rather be doing something else.' Anertha didn't say a word she just grumbled something inaudible under her breath before saying, 'Fred just shut up. Stop moaning and get in the classroom.' George contained a laugh as he passed them both in through the double doors. When they entered the room had been cleared of tables and on one side sat the boys and the other the girls. Anertha made her way to where Angelina stood chatting to Katie, whilst Fred and George went and stood by a window looking rather bored already. Professor Mcgonagoll stood and the room went quiet. Mcgonagoll began talking about something called a Yule Ball. Anertha was curious as were many of the girls so listened intently but the boys well they began to shut off. So did Anertha. 'The Yule Ball is first and foremost a dance.' Mcgonagoll announced proudly and the boy groaned with displeasure. Many of the girls however smiled, it meant dressing up. Her head shot over to Fred who was staring back her with a matching face of shock. A dance? That meant getting a date and if her and Fred kept fighting she knew it wouldn't be him she went with. The house had begun talking loudly until Mcgonagoll silenced them once more. She used a tone as she spoke that suggested she was not pleased with their behaviour she called them baboons, which the twins found funny and began repeating what she had just said over and over. It made Anertha chuckle quietly.

Anertha wasn't listening, she as too busy watching the twins. When she looked round Ron was stood sheepishly in front if their teacher. She tried not to laugh. Fred gave her a cheeky grin, she knew what he was thinking. 'Place your right hand on my waist.' Mcgonagoll instructed. Ron's face went pale. 'Where?' He choked. 'On my waist.' She said sternly, putting his hand in place. George let out a whistle and the twins began to laugh. Ron looked around scowling briefly. As the music started, Anertha couldn't help but chuckle too, it was poor Ron's face. She looked back at Fred and George, who were now bright pink with laughter, mimicking their dance moves. 'Everybody come together.' She called, all the girls good eagerly. Anertha was already stood but didn't move. Neither did any of the boys, except Neville. Mcgonagoll stopped dancing and stood sternly. 'Pair up!' She stood eyeing them as they reluctantly paired up. Some fifth year boy walked up to Anertha. 'Yes?' She asked. He opened his mouth to speak but found himself being dragged off by George. 'Oh no you don't.' He laughed as he threw him at some fourth year girl. Fred was left behind stood in front of his girlfriend. 'So....shall we get this over with?' He sounded annoyed that he was being made to dance. 'So romantic Fred.' She took his hand anyway. He put his hand on her waist and together they followed Professor Mcgonagoll's tutoring.
