Out of time ((An alternate universe Franertha fic. Requested and for fun. Not affiliated with the original story))

The smell of freshly cooked eggs and sausages drew Fred Weasley from his Sunday morning slumber, he wandered into the sitting room of his poky one bedroom flat that he shared with fiancée Anertha, to find her in their open kitchen cooking a fry up. 'Here...' She smiled as he sat down at the breakfast table, placing a plate of piping hot food in front of him, kissing him on the cheek as she turned off again back into the kitchen. 'Hey have you heard the latest?' She asked as she put the kettle on. Fred had just put a forkful of scrambled egg in his mouth, he rolled his eyes and swallowed quickly, she always did this as he began eating. 'No love, I've been asleep.' He answered sarcastically, wishing he hadn't, she turned around to face him with raised brow. 'You are hilarious, you should become a comedian. You'd totally give Russell Howard a run for his money.' She replied just as sarcastic. He sighed and continued eating, knowing she would ramble. 'Anyway, you know old toad face? Oh course you do, the one who used to bully those kids in that boarding school up north? Anyway...she was talking to Valerie..you know Valerie..the pretty one that used to work with you and George in the hardware shop...' Fred zoned out for minute, she always asked him questions but never did he answer them, she always got there first and no he didn't remember a Valerie and he didn't want to talk about George. '...anyway...according to her some woman called Amelia Bones was brutally murdered a few nights ago. Fred are you even listening?' She slammed a cup of coffee on the table in front of him, he wanted to say 'good one' because she had spilled some on their table cloth, but he thought better of it. 'Yes...people die everyday though. There was one last week and two the week before. What's so special about this one?' She creased her face in annoyance at his tone. 'Nothing I suppose but it was so violent and there was so many of them lately. What if there is a serial killer on the loose?' Fred sighed, such dramatics. 'Look if there is I'll best him up with a stick if he comes knocking. Alright? Besides all murders are violent, it doesn't mean it's the same person.' She shrugged and began rimming the mug with her finger. 'I suppose, but..just seems odd. Anyway...have you spoken to your brother?' Fred finished chewing his last bit if sausage and placed his cutlery down. 'Which one?' He smirked, she frowned. 'You know which one. George.' Fred's smirk faded, George had cleaned them out and stolen money from the safe at the store they used to run, Fred hadn't spoken to him since. 'No...I have no need.' She sighed and took his placed to the kitchen. 'You will have to talk to him some day, forgive and forget and all that. I forgave Cedric.' Fred snorted. 'Er yeah but your brother only ran off to China to marry some women..mine stole from me.' He scorned as he read for the paper. 'Well I didn't get an invite..' She snapped back. 'That is the point of eloping..' He said quietly under his breath. Ten minutes passed and Fred put down the paper, Anertha was still stood up in the kitchen, she had poured another coffee but was stirring it aimlessly. 'Er...Annie? I think the coffee is cold.' When she didn't answer he got concerned. 'Annie!' She jumped as turned around. 'Sorry, what?' She still had the spoon in her hand. 'What is the matter?' He watched her put the spoon down. 'Nothing, it's just...I've been thinking and I want to go back to teaching.' Fred groaned. 'Anertha...do you remember why you left teaching and got into real estate?' She nodded, she had gotten too attached to the young kids she had worked with and when the school closed she had a meltdown. She had always wanted kids of her own but Fred didn't so he made the decision to keep her from all kids and got her a job as an estate agent. He himself was unemployed now but at least one of them was bringing in decent money. 'Right then, that's settled, you are not going back into teaching.' She huffed and threw herself onto the sofa, turning on the television. 'Do you mind? I was reading the paper.' He called over the loud news presenter. 'Was. Past tense Fred and unless you've found a job in there I'm guessing you're done.' He joined her on the sofa, placing his coffee on the table in front of it. 'I am sorry but you know how you get around kids.' She didn't look at him, she watched the news intently. 'You knew I didn't want kids.' He said sorrowfully. 'Yeah well I've hit 30 and I realise that I do.' The pair remained quiet. All that could be heard was the presenter listing names of areas affected by mass murders in the last month. The hairs on their necks stood up as they noticed they lived right in the middle of it all. 'Fred...' 'Yeah?' She looked to him, fear in her eyes. 'I want to move...' Fred nodded in agreement.
