{Their first year}

Fred and George were excited. They were starting Hogwarts next month! Their three older brothers told them a lot about it. Charlie was going into his sixth year and Percy, well they never remembered, Percy bored them. 'Come on, come on.' Came their mother's voice, ushering them towards the fireplace. 'No, no Ronald. You stay here with daddy and Ginny.' She passed Ron to Arthur. Ron frowned and pouted. 'Come on Ron, don't ruin our day by upsetting mum, geez.' Fred complained at his younger brother. 'Now, now. Come on in the fireplace, we don't have all day!' Mrs Weasley barked.

'Mum!' Cedric called from the kitchen fireplace. 'Mum! I can't find the powder!' Anertha heard him shouting from outside. She came in to see what the fuss was about. She saw Cedric by the fire looking lost. Their father Amos came hurrying around the corner. 'Cedric there is no need to shout. Look, here..' He handed her brother a pot full of a greyish powder. The pot had been placed on a shelf by the fireplace. Anertha sighed, he tried but he just wasn't that bright. Cedric went red. 'Oh...Thanks dad.' 'Right then, come on kids. Off we go.' Came their mother's voice. 'Where?' Anertha asked. 'Diagon Alley. Geez Anertha, do you ever listen?' Cedric laughed sarcastically.

The twins had been here before but today Diagon Alley was busier than ever. Fred wrinkled his nose at the smells; some of them good, some not so nice. He felt his mother tug him forwards. 'No time to dawdle dear, you too George.' Fred looked and noticed his mother had hold of George too. They smirked to each other. Oh how they could wind her up today. They had already bought their wands, they were twins just like them. The mess they both caused in Ollivanders was unbelievable, they laughed when they realised just how much they could do now, their mother did not looked amused, neither did Charlie or Percy. They lost their older brothers as they entered Flourish and Blotts. 'I hate books.' George complained to his twin. Fred nodded in agreement. 'Where did I put that list?' Mrs Weasley mused, rummaging around in her bag. The boys groaned, they didn't want to be in here longer than they had to. 'Come on mum, this place is tiny.' George moaned yet again. 'Yeah, everyone is touching. I like my -' Fred stopped talking. A young brown haired girl with the brightest blue eyes he had ever seen just knocked into him. 'Sorry.' She said sweetly as she left the shop with a taller brown haired boy. Fred had just smiled goofily as she went past him. '-Personal space.' He finally finished.

Anertha straightened her jacket. She felt sorry for bumping into the red-haired boy with the odd smile. 'They need to make that place bigger.' Her brother commented as they made their way to Madam Malkin's. 'I should've stopped and made sure he didn't drop anything.' She said. Cedric wasn't listening. 'Got the books mum.' He grinned as they reached their mother, who had been waiting for them. 'Ah, lovely. Now go get your robes fitted. I will meet you at the café when you're done.' She handed them some Galleons each, kissed them and almost skipped away. As Anertha stood still, being measured, she couldn't help but wonder who that boy was. Would he be coming to Hogwarts? 'There. You may go and sit down now.' Said quite an old witch. 'Fred! George! Come on!' Came a harsh voice. Cedric and Anertha looked round to see a large woman entering the shop. Followed by two giggling red-headed boys. It was him. The boy she had bumped in to. He caught her eye and he his face turned the same colour as his hair. He ducked behind who appeared to be his twin. 'So alike.' She thought to herself. 'Diggory!' The old witch called. Cedric stood and picked up two packages from the counter. 'Come on Annie.' She stood to leave but turned before she left the shop and smiled at the boy again. There was something about him. She followed her brother to the café where they found her mother. She wasn't alone. She had an owl for company. 'Mum?' Anertha asked, looking at the bird. 'I bought her for the both of you. I want constant letters.' Cedric and Anertha beamed. The owl was beautiful. 'Wait...' Cedric said. 'I already bought an owl for Anertha . As it is our birthday soon.' Mrs Diggory looked stunned, but she soon smiled. 'Well you better have her then.' She handed Cedric the owl. Anertha couldn't wait to see hers. She loved having such a thoughtful brother.
