Umbridge Trouble {Based during their 7th year}

'Honestly, the next person to say my brother's death was an accident is gonna wish they hadn't.' Anertha spat irritably as she frowned at the floor. She had heard about Harry's outburst to Umbridge all those months ago and was now beginning to feel what he did. She tended to ignore jibes about Cedric's death. Recently though her temper was peaking, they had been stopped by Umbridge when the DA was active and punished for it, thanks to that good for nothing Cho Chang. She was never worthy of Cedric, at least that was how Anertha felt. 'You shouldn't let her get to you,' Angelina said trying to cheer her up. Anertha was glad to have such a supportive best friend. 'How can i not? She swans around like she owns the place, brainwashing people into believing what the ministry wants, evil-' she was interrupted by a 'Hem Hem' which came from behind her. Angelina froze beside her, but Anertha just took a deep breath, stood and faced Umbridge. ' A word, miss Diggory' she gave a half smile, one that could raise the hairs on anyone's neck. Anertha followed Umbridge to her office, leaving Angelina behind. This office always creeped Anertha out, how many cats? Pink? Too much. She always felt it was a cover up for the evil within the woman. 'Sit' Umbridge commanded. Anertha did so, raising her eyebrow and staring at her teacher. 'Now, you need to understand the consequences of your words. I understand your pain dear, to lose a family member is difficult, but to believe such lies about murder, well that will not help you.' Anertha could feel her anger coming to the surface, this woman was the limit. 'Do you understand dear?' Anertha stood abruptly, almost tipping the chair backwards. 'No, no I don't, you know why? Because it wasn't an accident! IT WAS MURDER! YOU AND THE MINISTRY ARE CAUSING ME AND MY PARENTS MORE PAIN BY REFUSING TO ACCEPT IT. YOUR-' she pointed a finger at Umbridge 'INSULTING HIS MEMORY!' In a flash Anertha was back in her seat, she couldn't move, Umbridge was stood over her with her wand out. 'You are a troubled young girl, but that does not excuse your behaviour.' She watched as Umbridge picked up one of her famous quills, except this one had a longer, sharper looking tip. Anertha just about managed to keep her sudden fear hidden, she thought so. 'Now, repeat after me...Cedric's death was an accident...' She stroked the tip of the quill and looked into Anertha's eyes. 'No' she said calmly. Umbridge's eyes turned dark. 'SAY IT!' She snapped. 'I can't...I won't.' Anertha looked at her straight back. 'You can't make me.' Umbridge took hold of Anertha's hand and placed it on the desk, Anertha still couldn't move. 'I think you'll find i can.' She smiled viciously as she stabbed the quill into the back of Anertha's hand...

Seamus was walking back to the common room when he heard the most bone-chilling scream, he froze, it was coming from the defence against the dark arts room. It was silent for a while, he crept towards the room but before he got to the door, a figure emerged, staggering and sat down on a ledge, concealing itself behind a statue. The figure began crying. Seamus ran over to find it was Anertha Diggory. She was clutching her hands and sobbing into them. Seamus suddenly noticed they were covered in blood. He wanted to scream, but instead knelt down. 'An...Anertha what....what happened?' He was a little shaken, Anertha shook her head and recoiled away. 'Fred' she squeaked between tears. Seamus jumped to his feet and ran as fast as he could to the common room. 'Please be in there' he thought.

Fred was starting to get concerned, he hadn't seen Anertha for hours, this wasn't normal. 'She's probably gotten caught up chatting to Ange, you know what girls are like.' George tried to put a lighter spin on it. Fred nodded in agreement, although he wasn't 100% convinced. At that moment, Angelina came into the common room, minus Anertha, Ange had a troubled look on her face. 'Angelina!' Fred called 'Where's Annie?' Ange gave him a scared glance. 'Umbridge' she said before disappearing upstairs. Fred looked to George 'That can't be good.'

'FRED!' Seamus Finnigan ran over hastily to the twins. 'Fred, Anertha...Umbridge...Statue...' he couldn't breathe. Fred and George both shouted impatiently 'SPIT. IT. OUT!' Seamus took a breath 'Anertha's hurt, hands are covered in blood, I dunno-' Fred cut him off grabbing his shoulders. 'Where is she?' He said in a worried voice. 'By the defence against the darks arts room, behind the statue.' Fred and George were soon out of the common room, running as fast as they could. Fred halted at the sight of Anertha, hiding in the shadows of the statue. George almost ran into him. 'Blimey Fred! Bit of warn-' he didn't finish, he could see why he has stopped. Fred threw himself in front of Anertha and took her face in his hands. 'Anertha, what did she do to you?' Fred could feel his eyes well up as he looked at the state of his girlfriend. She simply looked up at him and threw her arms around him. She just wanted to be held. 'Fred! Her hands!' George gasped. Fred had forgotten to look at her hands, he was so taken aback by her demeanour. He took hold of her blood stained hands, blood was still dripping from them and now running down Fred's. He felt George right behind him. Anertha winced as Fred turned her hand over and let out a small scream of shock. 'That's just sick.' George whispered. Fred took a closer look at her hand, at first glance it looked like a deep cut, but looking through the blood Fred could make out the word 'LIAR' carved deep into her skin. Fred gritted his teeth and held Anertha close. 'We'll get her, An, I promise you that.' He whispered into her ear. she nuzzled into him, he made her forget about the blinding pain in her left hand. Fred stood and pulled Anertha up after him. He held her close to him and kept her hand hidden as the three of them made their way back to the common room. 'We can't go to Pompfrey,' George commented quietly 'Hermione will know what to do.'

Later that evening after Anertha's hand was bandaged and she had calmed down, she filled the gang in on what happened. Fred held her to stop her from shaking. 'She can't carry on like this, she's insane! First Harry, now you, not to mention that mass detention. Bloody sick.' Ron muttered. 'She won't.' George frowned. Everyone dispersed for bed shortly after. Fred and Anertha however stayed huddled together in front of the fire, on the couch. Fred held her close and stroked her hair, he loved the way her hair fell through his fingers. They stayed that way for hours. Letting the drama of the day slip away with the embers of the fire.
