*Flashback*
The enchanted fountain shimmered in the sunlight, its water glowing with an ethereal light. Mal, Carlos, Evie, and Jay approached cautiously, drawn by the rumors of a magical surge. As they drew closer, the air crackled with energy, and the scent of ozone filled their nostrils.

"This is definitely more than just a glow," Mal murmured, her green eyes narrowed in concentration.

"I can feel the magic," Carlos added, his red eyes flashing. "It's… unstable."

Evie, ever the pragmatist, stepped back slightly. "Maybe we should just admire it from afar?" she suggested.

But Jay, ever the thrill-seeker, was already reaching out a hand towards the water. "Come on, where's the fun in that?" he said, his fingers brushing the surface.

As his fingertips touched the water, a blinding flash of light erupted from the fountain. The ground beneath them began to tremble, and a swirling vortex of energy formed above the fountain, pulling them in with irresistible force.

They cried out in surprise, grabbing onto each other, but it was no use. They were lifted off their feet, their bodies spinning as they were sucked into the vortex. The world around them dissolved into a kaleidoscope of colors and swirling shapes, a dizzying sensation that left them disoriented and breathless.

Then, just as suddenly as it began, the chaos subsided. The light faded, the spinning stopped, and they found themselves tumbling onto soft, mossy ground. They gasped for breath, their heads spinning, trying to make sense of their surroundings.

They were in a forest, but unlike any forest they had ever seen. The trees were impossibly tall, their branches twisted into bizarre shapes, their leaves a vibrant mix of colors that seemed to shift and change with every passing moment. Strange, luminous flowers bloomed in the undergrowth, their petals glowing with an otherworldly light. The air was thick with the scent of unfamiliar flora, a sweet and slightly intoxicating aroma.

"Where… where are we?" Evie stammered, her voice filled with awe and a hint of fear.

Carlos slowly got to his feet, his eyes wide with wonder. "I think," he said, his voice barely a whisper, "we're in Wonderland."

Jay, ever the adventurer, grinned. "Well, this is certainly more exciting than magical theory class," he declared.

Mal, however, was more cautious. She scanned their surroundings, her green eyes narrowed in concentration. "This place… it feels different," she said, her voice low. "The magic here is… wilder, more unpredictable."

A giggle echoed through the trees, a sound both enchanting and unsettling. A small, white rabbit, dressed in a waistcoat and carrying a pocket watch, hopped into view.

"Oh dear! Oh dear! I'm late! I'm late!" it cried, glancing at its watch. It paused, its eyes widening as it took in the sight of the four newcomers. "Well, well, well," it said, its voice surprisingly deep for such a small creature. "What have we here? Visitors, I presume?"

"Visitors?" Mal echoed, her voice laced with caution. "We were… transported here. Accidentally."

The White Rabbit tapped its foot impatiently. "Accidentally, you say? How very curious. Though, accidents are quite common in Wonderland, wouldn't you agree?" It tilted its head, its long ears twitching. "But tell me, who are you? And why have you come to our whimsical realm?"
