"Time"

The sun peeked over the horizon, casting a warm glow over the sleepy town of Auradon. Carlos and Mal, hand in hand, strolled down the cobblestone streets, their puppy, Helios, trotting happily beside them. The air was crisp and fresh, the scent of freshly baked pastries wafting from a nearby bakery.

Carlos smiled, his eyes fixed on Helios, who was chasing a butterfly through a patch of wildflowers.

Helios continued his chase, his little paws barely touching the ground as he darted after the elusive butterfly.

"He's a joy," Carlos said, his voice filled with warmth. "A little bundle of energy."

Mal chuckled. "And a lot of trouble."

Carlos just smiled, his eyes fixed on his beloved puppy. "He's worth it, every bit of trouble."

They continued their walk, hand in hand, Helios bounding ahead of them, his tail wagging furiously.

As Carlos, Mal, and Helios continued their leisurely stroll, they spotted Evie and Jay approaching from the opposite direction, with Luna trotting happily at their heels. The two groups met, a chorus of happy barks and excited greetings filling the air as Helios and Luna recognized each other.

"Morning, you two," Evie called out, her voice bright and cheerful. "Looks like everyone's enjoying the beautiful weather."

Jay nodded, a rare, genuine smile on his face. "These two can't get enough of it. They've been bouncing off the walls all morning." He ruffled Luna's soft fur, eliciting a happy yip from the cream-colored puppy.

"Tell me about it," Carlos chuckled, watching Helios and Luna playfully nip at each other's ears. "This one's got enough energy to power a small city."

Mal grinned. "It's good for them, though. They need to burn off some of that puppy energy."

"So, what are you guys up to today?" Evie asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

"Just enjoying the sunshine," Mal replied. "We were thinking of maybe heading to the enchanted lake later. Want to join us?"

Jay and Evie exchanged a quick glance, a silent agreement passing between them. "Sounds perfect," Jay said, his voice a little more enthusiastic than usual. "Luna would love that."

As the four friends and their furry companions set off towards the enchanted lake, the path wound through a lush, vibrant landscape. Sunlight dappled through the leaves of ancient trees, casting dancing shadows on the ground. The air was filled with the sweet scent of wildflowers and the gentle murmur of a nearby stream.

Helios and Luna, true to their nature, were inseparable. They trotted side-by-side, their bodies occasionally brushing against each other. Every now and then, one would nudge the other affectionately, a gesture reminiscent of their comforting cuddles from the previous night. Luna would often press her muzzle against Helios's golden fur, and Helios, in turn, would nuzzle her back, their playful energy tempered by a sweet, gentle connection.

As Carlos and Mal reached the enchanted lake, they paused to admire the shimmering waters. The sun danced on the surface, creating a kaleidoscope of colors. Helios and Luna, ever the energetic pair, had already darted off, their barks echoing through the trees.

Carlos, with a gentle smile, turned to Mal. "Shall we?" he asked, his voice filled with anticipation.

With a nod and a shared smile, Carlos and Mal found a picturesque spot beneath the shade of a sprawling willow tree. Carlos closed his eyes for a moment, focusing his energy. A soft golden light emanated from his hands, swirling gently in the air before materializing into a checkered picnic blanket spread neatly on the grass. With another wave of his hand, a wicker basket overflowing with delicious treats appeared: freshly baked bread, colorful fruit, an assortment of cheeses, and a pitcher of sparkling lemonade.

Evie and Jay arrived just as the magical picnic was being set out, their eyes widening in amazement. "Wow, Carlos," Evie exclaimed, her voice filled with wonder. "You're getting so good at this!"

Jay nodded in agreement, a hint of awe in his voice. "That's quite the spread."

Meanwhile, Helios and Luna had discovered the joys of the enchanted lake. They splashed and paddled in the shallows, their barks of excitement echoing across the water. They chased after floating leaves, their tiny bodies creating ripples in the shimmering surface. They even seemed to be racing each other, their playful energy boundless. Every now and then, they would pause, nuzzle each other affectionately, then dive back into their aquatic adventures.

With another focused breath, Carlos expanded the magical picnic spread. Beside the overflowing wicker basket, platters laden with vibrant fruits materialized: juicy strawberries, plump blueberries, slices of sweet watermelon, and clusters of ripe grapes. A separate tray appeared, adorned with delectable sweets – colorful macarons, rich chocolate brownies, and a stack of Evie's favorite blueberry scones. Remembering their individual preferences, a small bowl of crispy chicken nuggets for Jay and a plate of perfectly grilled mini-kebabs for Mal also joined the feast. The air now carried the enticing aromas of fresh fruit, sweet pastries, and savory treats, a truly magical picnic laid out beside the shimmering enchanted lake, while the happy barks and splashes of Helios and Luna continued their joyful symphony in the water.
