The crisp mountain air nipped at their noses as Carlos, Mal, Evie, and Jay tumbled out of Ben's royal carriage. Snow crunched beneath their boots, a stark contrast to the usual cobblestones of

Auradon Prep.

"Whoa," Carlos breathed, his eyes wide with wonder. "I've never seen so much snow!"

Mal, ever the pragmatist, wrinkled her nose. "It's cold and wet and probably full of... things.""Things?" Jay scoffed, already sprinting towards a towering snowdrift. "Like challenges!" He

leaped into the snow, disappearing from view with a triumphant shout.

Evie giggled. "Oh, Jay. You're such a child." She turned to Mal, a mischievous glint in her eye.

"Come on, let's see what kind of mischief we can cause."

Before Mal could protest, Evie grabbed her hand and pulled her towards a nearby thicket of

trees. "We need to find the perfect spot for a... surprise."

Carlos, meanwhile, was having his own adventure. He'd discovered a small, abandoned sled, its wooden frame weathered but sturdy. With a mischievous grin, he dragged it towards Jay, who was now engaged in a snowball fight with a group of bewildered-looking Auradon Prep

students.

"Hold onto your hats, guys!" Carlos yelled, pushing off with his feet. The sled lurched forward, picking up speed as it careened down the snowy slope. Jay, startled, ducked just in time as the sled whizzed past, kicking up a shower of snow.

Laughter erupted, infectious and joyous. For a brief moment, it seemed like the weight of their

pasts, the expectations of their parents, even the looming threat of Cruella's return, faded away. They were just four friends, enjoying a rare moment of carefree fun in the heart of winter.

Suddenly, a snowball whizzed past Carlos's ear, narrowly missing his face. He turned to see Mal, her face smeared with a mischievous grin, aiming another snowball. "Looks like someone's ready for a payback," she declared. And so, the snowball fight began in earnest, a chaotic flurry of laughter, shouts, and expertly aimed projectiles. The once pristine snow soon transformed into a battlefield of icy missiles, leaving behind a trail of laughter and pure, unadulterated joy.

As the sun began to set, casting long shadows across the snow-covered landscape, they collapsed onto the ground, exhausted but exhilarated.

"That was... amazing," Carlos panted, catching his breath.

Mal grinned. "Maybe this whole 'good guy' thing isn't so bad after all."

Evie nodded in agreement. "As long as we get to have a little fun along the way."

Jay, ever the competitor, added, "And as long as I always win."

The snow began to fall, soft flakes dancing in the twilight. As the light faded, a playful snowball fight erupted, leaving behind a trail of laughter and pure, unadulterated joy.

Suddenly, Mal and Carlos, locked in a playful chase, collided head-on, tumbling into the deep snow. They lay there for a moment, breathless, their eyes meeting. The world seemed to shrink away, leaving only them in the soft glow of the setting sun. A smile spread across Carlos's face, mirroring the one on Mal's.

Then, in a moment that felt both unexpected and inevitable, their lips met. It was a soft,

tentative kiss, a spark igniting in the cold winter air.

As they pulled apart, their eyes still locked, a comfortable silence fell between them. The laughter of their friends seemed to fade into the background, replaced by a newfound
