Luke's POV
Ashton gave me an odd look as I closed the back door of the car. I sighed and turned around, Bella was standing in front of me holding Ricky's hand while his other one gripped the arm of an old teddy bear Bella had given him.
I wrapped my arm around Bella's lower back and guided the two of them to the door in silence.
Ashton called ahead of time for Bella and explained the whole situation with how she found Ricky and what had happened.
I grabbed the handle of the door after walking up the front steps and opened it, allowing Bella to hesitantly pull Ricky inside.
The little boy looked back at me as he walked along side Bella.
I gave him a soft smile, but it was forced and I'm sure even he knew that.
It was like a sad movie, everything was in slow motion. Almost like t was black and white and sad music should be playing in the background.
"You must be Ricky," A woman happily waltzes in the room. Ricky held onto Bella's hand tightly, pressing his head into her forearm as he brought the teddy bear closer to his chest.
"Awe, don't be sad buddy." the lady says, "Everything will be alright. There's other little kids that will love to play with you here, you're going to like it here."
"I don't want to like it here," Ricky croaked, hugging Bella's side.
I looked up at from Ricky at Bella, she held her emotions back as much as she could but I could see right through her.
I stepped closer, placing my hands on Ricky's shoulders softly.
The lady smiled at me and Bella. "You're all set to say good bye and leave."
I nodded, nudging Bella's shoulder.
"Will you take my number and call to tell me how he's doing?" Bella asked softly, her voice cracking slightly. She pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to the old lady with a sad smile on her face.
"He'll be fine," she told Bella.
Bella bit her lip, crouching down in front of Ricky and giving him a hug. She stood up a few moments later and Ricky turned to me, I picked him up, ruffling his hair before giving him a hug.
I felt the urge to cry, but knew I shouldn't because Bella wasn't crying even though she wanted to so why should I. I couldn't possibly hurt the little boy anymore than we already managed to.
I gently put him back down on his feet, my heart ached as I watched him walk over to the orphanage runner.
She gave us a reassuring smile before walking Ricky into another room. In the door way and stopped and turned around to look at us.
"Bye." He whispered.
"Bye." We called back, and then we exited the orphanage.
My arm was wrapped around Bella who immediately went to turn around to go back inside but I grabbed her and we continued to walk down the steps.
"Don't go back in there, don't do that to yourself."
"Myself? Do you see what we're doing to him?!"
And then she broke down. We slipped into the car with three sad looking lads waiting in there for us. Calum immediately pulled Bella in for a hug telling her it would be ok. I held her hand and looked out the window as we drove away from the orphanage. In the upstairs window stood little crying Ricky waving his small hand at us as we drove away. He blew a kiss, then disappeared from the window.
