Luke's POV
Bella dove to the ground, luckily missing the bullet. I quickly ran over, EMT's passed me on one side and police passing me on the other. I didn't pay attention to the loud talking around me, I was just focussed on picking up Bella.
I grabbed her, my one goal was to carry her away before she could see what happened but as soon as I turned my back she gasped and I knew she saw.
"Harry?" She asked. "Luke, Luke! I think it's Harry."
She attempted to get out of my arms, wiggling around and fighting to get let go.
"I'm sorry Harry, no! HARRY IM SO SORRY!" She cried out, still trying to wiggle out of my grip.
The part that saddened me the most was that she didn't know, she didn't know that he was gone already.
Calum came running over, grabbing my shoulder. "Ashton wants us to take Bella home right now."
I quickly turned around towards Calum, "Would you like to tell me where the hell her home is? I mean, I'm sure she doesn't want to go back to her apartment and-"
Bella let out a loud cry, hurrying her head in the crook of my neck. "Don't argue," she groaned, sounding more than exhausted, she lifted her head, "I don't fucking want to deal with it right now."
Calum and I frowned, but nodded and followed her request.
"Can I walk?" She sighed. I mumbled a 'yes' and put her on her feet. I went to grab her hand but she pulled away and shook her head, staring down at the ground. I bit my lip, giving Calum a side glance. He patted me on the back and we continued walking.
Bella moped along in front of us, not making a sound.
We just followed her to wherever she was headed, also not making a sound.
She mumbled something to us, but we didn't hear.
"What?" We questioned in unison.
She stopped dead in her tracks, turning to face us. "I said, is your car still in front of Ash's."
"Oh, uh, yeah. It should be."
She nodded and began walking again. She cut through two yards, and neither of us questioned, we just followed and quickly made it to Ashton's street.
The house was a mess, I could tell just from the outside where the red cups were tossed around and some beer bottles laid.
Bella walked over to the car and waited for one of us. I felt my pockets, freaking out for a second before I heard something jingle on the side of me telling me Cal had the keys.
He unlocked the doors and Bella climbed in the back.
"Lemme drive," I raised my hands to catch the keys. Calum tossed them over before the two of us got into the car.
I pulled out of the driveway.
"Where are we going?" I asked, going up the one way street.
"My house, I just want to sleep." Bella mumbled from the back, her forehead pressed to the window.
I took the correct turns and drove silently until we got to the complex. My phone was buzzing in my pocket like crazy. Bella got out of the car so I took the opportunity to hand it to Calum.
"Please answer whoever this is, I'll take her upstairs." Calum nodded, pressing the answer button as I slipped out of the car.
We walked into the house in silence, Bella keeping pace so she was a bit ahead of me. As soon as she stepped foot in her apartment she broke down.
"I killed him," she cried, falling on the ground, "He's dead. Harry-he-he's dead. I killed him!"
I quickly walked over to her after shutting the door. I grabbed her from her sitting position on the floor, pulling her up under her arms.
"Luke," she cried, falling into me, "This is all my fault..."
She stood there for only a minute with her head against my chest before she pulled away, picking up the nearest object which-coincidentally-happened to be a picture of all of us on tour in front of one of the buses.
"I'm so stupid," she yelled as the object bounced off the wall. "I killed him. That bullet was for me, someone else's life was taken because of me!"
I walked over to Bella, wrapping my arms around her because that's literally the only way I could get her to stay still.
"Listen-Shh, Bell listen. It wasn't your fault, do not blame yourself for any of this. Stop it, right now." I said sternly yet as lovingly as I could.
She relaxed for a moment, completely silent.
"Harry's gone," she mumbled.
"I know," I sighed, rubbing her back.
She looked up at me pressing her chin to my chest, her eyes wide and glossy, her lips in a slight pout.
At the moment I didn't think I could love the girl anymore than I did in that moment.
"I love you." She whispered.
"I love you too, Bella."
