The moment I stepped out of the car and onto the black carpet outside Barker Hangar, I was hit with flashing lights, camera shutters, and the loud hum of excited voices. I wasn't new to this, far from it, but something about attending these events with my mom and older sisters always made me feel a little out of place. They were the real stars of the show, and me? I was just along for the ride, popping in and out occasionally.
I adjusted the lapels of my sleek, all-black tailored suit, coordinating with the dark, elegant looks my sisters had out together for the night. Kim was in a skintight snakeskin gown, Kourtney in a sharp, structured blazer dress, Khloe in a bold sheer ensemble, and Mom—classic Kris—was in a sophisticated black pantsuit with a diamond choker. We always matched in some way, unspoken but understood.

KHLOE: Khloe hooped her arm through mine as we walked down the carpet. "You nervous, baby boy?" She teased, leaning in so only I could hear over the chaos around us.

Kris, ever the professional, led us through the media gauntlet with ease, stopping at key spots to do interviews. I stood back for most of them, nodding along as my sisters answered questions about the show, our family, and—of course—their latest business and personal ventures. It wasn't until E! News pulled us aside that they decided to rope me in.
INTERVIEWER: "So, Kyler." The interviewer said, angling the mic toward me. "You're a bit more lowkey compared to your sisters. How do you feel about the growing attention to your career?"
KYLER: I chuckled, rubbing the back of my neck. "I'm kind of just the supporting character in their movie." I joked, earning a laugh from Kourtney beside me. "But I love being here with them. It's always a good time."
We moved inside after the carpet, making our way to our table near the front. The room buzzed with celebrities, some familiar faces I'd known forever and others I admired from a distance. Zendaya, sitting just a few tables away, gave a small wave, and I returned it with a nod. Robert Downey Jr. was a few seats over, deep in conversation. Kevin Hart passed by, dapping up Kim and cracking jokes with Khloe.
