The sound of my shoes against the sleek marble floor of the airport terminal is the only noise in the otherwise quiet corridor. Kyler's hand is casually draped over my shoulder, pulling me just a little closer than usual. His presence is always comforting, even when he's being impossibly annoying...like right now.

STASS: "So, I guess we're finally on our way, huh?" I murmur, glancing up at him.
He's too smug for his own good, and I can feel that quiet little air of mystery about him. He's been giving me vague hints for days now, none of them giving me anything solid. Just enough to keep me on edge. I've been begging for the full details for weeks, but he's made a sport out of keeping me in suspense.
KYLER: "You'll see soon enough, babe." Kyler says, his lips curling into that mischievous half-smile of his. "I promise it's worth the wait."
STASS: "You're such a tease." I say, rolling my eyes. "Is that the game we're playing now?"
KYLER: I could practically feel the smirk on his lips as he moves a little ahead of me, leading the way down the hall toward the private flight deck. "Always, Stass. You love it."

After seven months together, and after all the things we've gone through, it still feels like a high school romance, in a way. He's my favorite mix of challenge and sweetness, teasing and affection. But with Kyler, you can never let your guard down once he lets you in. Not completely. He's always got a trick or two up his sleeve when he needs it.
STASS: "Let me guess." I tease, letting my fingers trace the top of his hand. "Somewhere in Greece, right? Are we doing some sort of-"
KYLER: "I'm not telling you anything else." He cuts in, but there's that playful edge in his tone that makes me grin. He knows I can't resist trying to piece it together.
