The most mature love I witnessed comes from the youngest (Blank);
The most unpretentious, from an actress (TSOU);
And the most raw and sincere love confession comes from the one who lies (Us),
How devastatingly beautiful it must be - to be caught in the irony of love.
YOKO
It might as well be just a peck, or was it?
Faye's soft lips linger for a moment, breathing but not daring to move away while she has her eyes close; a great mistake.
For without seeing anything else, she can feel Faye's breathing against her lips to her core.
It's not until someone clears their throat that Faye moves away.
And her bodyguard looks at everything but her.
Huh! Not so brave now?
"What did you do?" Yoko's voice comes out softer and not as firm as she hopes for. She compensates for the lack of bite in her words with a glare.
"I'm sorry. I can't think of anything else to calm you down."
Yoko scoffs.
Without intending to make the awkward situation last, Yoko limps towards Kate, ignoring the tall man beside her.
"You." Yoko exclaims, pointing at the young woman. "Follow me."
It turns out it is an arranged marriage. Kate's family only wants her to marry Bowie, to save their family farm.
Now, she can't be more thankful that Faye stops her from beating the woman earlier.
Yoko shifts in her seat as she listens to the young woman's confession. They are at the farm's reception and no one's around, thankfully.
"Do you love my brother?"
The question must have startled the woman. She can see her fidgeting with her fingers, looking at anything but her. "It doesn't matter now, does it?"
Yoko sigh, crossing her arms. "Just answer the damn question."
Kate then looks at her with teary eyes. "I never thought I would love someone else more than myself." Kate scrunches her nose and subtly wipes her cheek. "I love Big."
Somehow that hits home, coming from a woman who's full of herself.
Well, they have that in common. And she can't imagine how hard it must be to admit such a thing.
When Yoko stands, Kate did the same.
"Are your parents home?" She asks, fishing out something from her pocket.
"No."
Yoko pulls out a business card from her wallet and gives it to the young woman. "Since your parents think of marriage as a business, I have a better offer. Be with my brother instead."
They came all the way there; there's no way she's going to give up like that.
"Just so you know, I gave Big some of my shares from the company."
Kate bites her quivering lips and stares at the business card.
"Come to the company with your parents. Of course, it still depends on you. If you're going to marry to save your family farm, might as well marry the one you love -."
