You see, until I met you,
I had only ever experienced desire.
Love, never.

YOKO
There are a lot of reasons she should have said no.
First, she easily gets dizzy on rides at amusement parks. Second, rides don't primarily cater to physically challenged people like her. And lastly! Amusement parks are dirty!
Not to mention that theme parks contributed indirectly to air pollution as well!
But it's not like she's against people's enjoyment and such things, and she understands business. It's just that fun for her includes sipping wine in the quiet corner of her room while reading books. And if it's raining outside, it will be a bonus!
Yoko sigh thumbing through her notes.
As for the pros?
She would get to spend a day with Faye.
Three major cons and one pro, and yet she wants to go.
She must be out of her mind!
When she groans, Marissa stirs from beside her.
"Yo! Go back to sleep. Will you?"
After she had a nightmare earlier, she went to Marissa's room. And because of that, she cannot go back to sleep.
Marissa was kind enough to let her open the lamp on her side.
Yoko closes her notebook only to open in again in a heartbeat. "Soon."
Her best friend, knowing her fully well, looks in her direction with squinted eyes. "You're not a good liar. But I love you, you know that, right?"
She can't help but raise an eyebrow.
Give it to Marissa to sweet-talk every time she gets the need to.
"Does Ice know that?"
"What?"
Despite her puppy-themed pajamas, Marissa crosses her arms, attempting to appear slightly intimidating.
"Am I a threat to you and the doctor's love life now?" Yoko teases.
"Oh, shut it!" the younger woman exclaims before throwing a pillow at her. Yoko barely dodges it in time. "If you don't sleep now, I'll kick you out of the house!"
"Hmmm."
Interesting, since it's her house she's talking about. But Yoko knew not to argue with a Gen Z sleepyhead.
Suddenly, her best friend wraps an arm around her.
"Don't be so clingy now. Ice will break my bones."
Marissa scoffs, giving her some space. "She's not jealous like that. Especially not with you."
"I know."
It's really hard teasing someone in a secured relationship, isn't it?
Speaking of secured — if there's someone she can ask for advice regarding relationships, it's Marissa.
"Hey! Er — do you have, like, a second you can spare with me?"
Marissa smirks. "Must be really serious for my best friend to be courteous. What is it?"
"Well, you know how guys and ladies are usually the ones who hit on me, right?"
Her best friend chuckles. "Right."
