YOKO

It's been a month since their visit to Kate's family farm and it's been two weeks since her brother shows up in the company, despite her insistence that it is not necessary. And if she knew Big and Kate will be lovey-dovey in the cafeteria, she would have persuaded her brother not to show up even more.

"Ahhhh," Kate coos as she spoon feeds Big in front of her, Ice and Marissa.

Yoko crunches her nose.

The two just got engaged, but why does it seem they are on a honeymoon phase?

As though that is not annoying enough, Ice and Marissa are baby-talking with each other while eating.

She's used to being a third wheel, alright. But a fifth wheel?

Yoko rolls her eyes before finishing her drink.

Somehow, Ice heard her audible gulp and seeks the chance to tease her. "Yo, will your hot bodyguard come to work after lunch?"

She crosses her arms. "Stop calling her that."

A playful grin appears across the doctor's lips. "Alright." Ice clears her throat before regarding her fully. "Will your hot girlfriend come to work today?"

"Girlfriend?" Yoko said with a scoff. "I don't have one."

After what happened at the farm, she and Faye hardly talked.

She remembered telling Faye that she won't hold back in pursuing the bodyguard anymore, but that was before Faye's supposedly dead ex-girlfriend showed up.

Besides, she realized, she's only good at flirting and didn't know how to pursue a woman.

She doesn't want to brag, but — she's always the one being chased and pursued; not the other way around.

When she can't find the right words to say, she glares at Ice.

"Stop now," Marissa said, smacking her girlfriend's arm. "Faye won't come today. She has a personal errand."

Yoko nods a thank you at Marissa before digging into her food again. She's only halfway through her food, but it's tasting blander by the minute.

"Sis. Can you run me through some plans and reports regarding Kate's farm later?"

After the two got engaged, they suggested to Kate's family to renovate the farm. That way, they will have more customers. And besides, that's what their family is good at. Might as well train the couple while they're at it.

"Run me through, too," Kate said.

"Sure."

Suddenly, Marissa's phone rings.

Yoko stares at her best friend. "Don't answer that. We're still on a break."

"But —." Marissa stares at her vibrating phone. "It's Janice from the reception."

When she didn't say a thing, Marissa puts the phone on speaker and places it on top of their table.

"Hi, Janice!"

"Hey! I've got, er — someone looking for Ms. Apasra."

"Who is it?" Yoko snaps.

"Oh. Hi ma'am! Ms. Bunmi is looking for you," Janice said hesitantly.

"Ms. Bunmi?"

A child's voice booms on the other line. "Hi Ms. Apasra. It's Ryn. Ryn!"

The kid's small feet dangle on the edge of her seat. Her head bobbing up and down to a rhythm only the kid can hear as she munches some sweets from Yoko's sweet jar. Marissa is kneeling in front of Ryn, opening a bottle of water.
