Heyo Edgelings!
Dying Sanity AU (Pt.21)
Whelp... I've certainly had a rollercoaster of a week. It's been interesting, not always in the fun way... but hey, I have motivation to write so I can't be too down about it :D
I made an outline for this chapter, and by outline I mean I wrote a few sentences about what I wanted to happen lol. That's the closest thing to organization I ever get. And even at that I didn't even end up following the outline. Guess organization just isn't for me, but I'm not complaining. I like not having a plan. Makes things exciting.
Anywho, enjoy!!!

Bryce's dead, blank stare snapped up from the baking asphalt. Did... Did someone just say his name...? No... That was impossible... Shoot... he must be hallucinating from this ridiculous heat... maybe it was time to head back and call it a day... he managed to get a little over twenty this morning... probably enough for tonight anyways... maybe...
"BRYCE HANSEN!!!" That same voice screeched out over the obnoxious din of New York traffic.
Ok, that was an awfully real sounding hallucination...
Bryce scanned the cars in front of him, searching for the source of the voice... there probably wasn't one... but his gaze landed on an audio recorder practically hanging out of the rear window of a taxi, arms frantically waving at him.
His eyes widened in shock... It was real?!?! Who the heck was that and how did they know his full name?!?!
He lifted his foot to approach them, but froze. What if the light turned green while he was out there? He'd be flattened in an instant. But if he waited he might never figure out who the heck that was... With a tentative glance at the redlight, he quickly weaved his way through the stopped traffic. Even with the risk, he was too curious to figure out how the heck that random object knew him.
"Who the heck are you and how do you know me?!?!" He demanded as soon as he arrived beside the taxi, staring with a mixture of irritation and befuddlement at the recorder within.
Before she could answer, the light horrifically flashed green.
Bryce cursed fervently, wide eyes darting around in panic for a fast escape route from his inevitable fate of being crushed by the soon oncoming traffic. Engines revved loudly as everything around him began to rumble into motion with the foreboding of a fast approaching thunderstorm.
"GET IN!" The recorder screamed at him, flinging her door open in a frenzy.
Bryce dived into the back seat just as the taxi rolled into motion. He slammed the door behind him as the vehicle accelerated. Bryce's breath came in quick, panicked gasps, his mind racing as he attempted to calm down the instinctual fear for his life. His hands shook as he shut his eyes, collapsing into the seat in exhausted relief. He groaned and swore beneath his breath about how stupid that was.
The driver of the taxi gave a skeptic glare through the rearview mirror, "Da **** was 'at?"
"It's... it's nothing..." The recorder quickly assured him, looking a bit shaken. More than a little terrified at the thought that she almost got someone killed.
"Who's 'at?" The driver nodded at the soda bottle.
"He's with us," She nodded, recollecting her nerves and resuming her usual confident tone.
