"Dance with me," he whispered. I turned around and found myself encircled in his arms. He was standing very close to me, and his arms weren't tight or restricting, but holding me comfortingly. I looked up into his green eyes and smiled.

" I'm Mason by the way," he whispered.

"Mackenzie, Mac for short," I said nervously.

"Well Mac, will you?"

"Uh, uh, yes," I stumbled.

We got close in each others arms and started moving to the upbeat rhythm of the music.

"Can I tell you something?" Mason said after a while of nothing being said.

"Sure,"

"I know we just met and all, but I,...I can't stop thinking about our kiss earlier." He said and grinned.

"Ohhhh, that. Sorry about that."

"Nothing to be sorry about. I really enjoyed it actually." He said and pulled out of our embrace.

"So maybe I'll see you around?" He asked. I nodded and smiled back.

"You got to dance with Mason Blake, and I didn't. I live in this town and I haven't! So unfair cuz!" Sophie said later that night.

"Relax, nothing will happen after this. It was nothing serious."

But I didn't even know how serious it could get.

***

"Mac, I'm going to breakfast with or without you! Hurry up!"

I ran down the stairs, wearing a red button up shirt, shorts, converse, and letting my long hair fall in waves.

"I'm ready!"

We went to breakfast and sat down. I grabbed a menu and put in in front of me to look.

"Welcome to pattys, what I can I get you?" A voice said. I put my menu down and saw the face. Green eyes, or as I had been told by my cousin, mason Blake.

"Ohh it's you," he said and grinned. I pushed a piece of hair behind my ear nervously and smiled.

"Hi!"
