I opened the front door to my house, actually glad to see mason was still here. He was siting at the kitchen table and staring at something on the wall absentmindedly. I walked over to him and sat down across from him.
"So, Im not really mad at you from before. I get it now. It wasn't something that effected us, but it would have been nice to know. But now that it's over, I hope you can forgive me from overreacting like I did." I said.
"No Mac, I'm sorry. I should have mentioned it earlier. I'm glad we can move past this," he said and smiled.
"Me too! And by the way, I sort of,....accidentally met your mother?" I said
"You what??"
"Yeah. I ran into her at the grocery store and I didn't know it was her until I had spilled my sob story to her."
"Wow! Yeah, she works there now that she's retired. It gives her something to do. So, what did you say when you figured out it was her??"
"I told her how sweet and amazing of a son she has," I said and reached across the table to entwine my hand with his.
"She imvited us to dinner tomorrow night!"
"Wow! She must have liked you a lot!"
