Mac, come back

(Mac's POV)

Sophie and mason sat me down as said they had something to tell me. Ok? I didn't even know they had something to talk about together, they weren't even that good of friends! I was utterly confused.

"So, what exactly is going on?" I ask.

Sophie lets out a sigh. "Mac, it's not a big deal or anything. I just feel like you need to know. That one girl mason dated before you?"

"It was Sophie. Sophie and I used to go out," mason blurted out. He pushed his brown hair out of his face, his piercing green eyes filled with confusion.

Wait, why was HE confused? I have a right to be confused, not him!

"Ok, well if it's over between you then who c-"

"I told mason he should break up with you. At the beginning, I was jealous. I couldn't believe the boy who broke my heart was so head over heels with my cousin! I'm so sorry Mac!" Sophie said.

I couldn't believe this. They both lied to me. I was mad at both and didnt want to talk to either for a while.

"I'm going out. I can't do this right now. I need,...space." I said am grabbed my keys and left.

I walked into the supermarket. I went there often and new my way around. I grabbed a basket and started loading it with comfort food. Chips, ice cream, chocolate, and candy. I was reminded of mason by all of these things. We would eat this kind of junk food all the time while watching movies. I started to cry at the checkout line. The checkout lady stared at me, probably debating whether or not to call security.

"Darlin, are you ok?" She asked me in a comforting way.

"Um, um, not exactly." I said trying to wipe away my tears, but they kept flowing.

"What happened??" She asked and shut the check stand light off, indicating to other customers that she was closed. She leans closer to me and rests her elbow against the counter, waiting for me to spill. This woman was maybe in her mid fifties and was extremely beautiful. She had shoulder length brown hair and hazel eyes. I sighed and told her the story, minus the names of my cousin and boyfriend.

"I'm so sorry Hun! Sounds like your cousin was trying to be honest witch you though. And so was your boyfriend! In the long run, they were trying to protect you and tell you. " maybe she was right.

"In sorry I wasted your time telling you about my pathetic life," I said and laughed a little .

"No problem at all! You know somethin? I wish my son could have met you before you met your boyfriend. He deserves to have a nice girl like you." She said and smiled

"Oh thank you," I said and blushed

"Although, from what I hear, this new girl he has is quite the match! Maybe it'll be ok for him, and for you and your boyfriend." She said and smiled.

"Thank you, for everything. I didnt catch your name," I said to her as I was grabbing my groceries.

"Theresa."

I froze.

"As in,.....Theresa Blake??"

"Yes." She said, a little confused.

"It's nice to officially meet you mrs. Blake, I'm your son mason's girlfriend Mackenzie."
