"Good lord Sophie! I love you and all but I'm trying to get ready! Can this wait at all until tomorrow?" I asked her on the phone. She had left on a trip for work for a week to Paris (she was an art architect thing I think, I never really listened when she explained it.) apparently in the two days she had been there, she had met the "love of her life", she was so dramatic. I was getting ready, or trying to, to have dinner with mason and his family. I was really nervous and had spent most of my day dwelling on what could go wrong.

"Sure thing! So, are you nervous for tonight?"

"Sort of. His mom seemed to have taken a liking to me, and I know for a fact his sister idolizes the ground I walk on, even though she hasn't met me yet."

"Geez cuz, I know your pretty beautiful but-"

"No no! She told mason so! I'm not saying I am all those things!" I laughed a little. I felt a little bit of relief wash over me, things might be ok. Plus, if I was meeting his family, did that make things,....serious between us??

"So Mackenzie,...I mean Mac, how did you and my son meet?" David Blake said to me across the table. I cleared my throat a little, not knowing whether I should mention that the location was a club. But mason had it covered.

"We were at a social gathering for a friend, and there was a nasty drunk guy bothering Mac, so I said something," he said nonchalantly.

"He stood up for me, and didnt even know my name," I said and smiled.

"HOW ROMANTIC!" Rachel, his sister gushed. "You two, are just the.cutest.thing.EVER. I can't get over it! It's like William and Kate, just meant to be together," she said dreamily with her faint southern accent. She could easily be an actress.

Everyone laughed an continued eating.

"So when are you coming over again? Can you teach me how to do my hair like yours? And your makeup? I'll look like a movie star! And then, we could-"

"ENOUGH Rachel! Don't scare Mac anymore with your million questions!" Mason chuckled as we were leaving. Rachel had followed us out the door and to the car after dinner, still talking. I bent down to her level and smiled.

"Of course! Can I come over tomorrow to do your hair?" I said. Her eyes widened with excitement.

"Yes yes yes! Can't wait! 2o clock, don't be late! Ooh, that rhymes!" She giggled and went back into the house. I laughed and got in the passenger seat of masons car. Once we were both in, mason stared at me, then kissed my cheek.

"What's that for?" I smiled.

"My baby sister is so important to me, it means a lot to me." He beamed. "Now, lets get home."
