I had a good talk with Hiro, no surprise there. He's so easy to talk to, so understanding. Patient. I lied in bed thinking about when I first saw Hiro and what Bailey said. 'He stares at her like she's the most beautiful girl he's ever seen. It's not just a one-time thing. He does this every time he sees her.' I thought back to when Hiro and I first saw each other. I remembered our eyes locked for a moment before he looked me up and down, then winked. More memories of Hiro passed through my mind. The night of the party when he actually talked to me the moment after when he took me home. All the mornings after even the days after. He didn't even know much about me then, but he was there for me.
I got some much needed sleep and woke up the next morning. I got dressed in a baggy shirt and a pair of jeans. I put my hair up in a messy bun, slipped into my boots, and grabbed my bag. I grabbed my wallet and keys before walking out of my room. Hiro crashed on the couch last night, but of course, he's already up this morning.
"You're going to school today?" Hiro asked as he stepped from the kitchen.
"I need to." I nodded.
Hiro smiled. "Alright then." He stepped into his boots, grabbed his keys, and opened the door.
I walked out the door and then turned slightly as I waited for him. He closed the doors behind him. We walked to his car and got in. I buckled up as he did, then shifted my eyes to him. "Hiro?"
His dark eyes locked on mine. "Yeah, baby?"
I smiled a little. "Uh.. Nevermind."
Hiro stared at me with a raised eyebrow. "Is everything ok?"
"Yeah... I thought I left my necklace." I pulled my urn from the inside of my shirt. "Sorry."
Hiro pushed his brows together. "You don't have to be sorry, baby." I gave a nodded as I looked down slightly. "Are you ok?"
I nodded as I met his eyes. "I'm ok."
Hiro took a deep breath as he gave a nod. "Do me a favor."
"Ok."
"If it gets to be too much today, please text me or call me." Hiro said.
"I will." I nodded.
"Promise me, Sky."
"I promise."
Hiro gave a small smile. "Ok." He started the car then pulled away from the curb. It was a quiet ride to the school. I looked out the window for a moment and then opened the door. "Have a good day, baby."
I met his eyes. "I will do my best." I gave him a small smile. "See you later."
"You got it." Hiro nodded. I grabbed my bag and closed his door. I watched him pull off and then walked inside the school.
"Sky..." Riley smiled as she hugged me. "We didn't expect to see you today."
"I need to get back so I can graduate." I said softly.
Riley nodded. "I understand."
"Hey!" Jay hugged me. "How are you holding up?"
