In the meantime, I just need to focus on the last few months of school and college. Though, I may rethink about going to California. I haven't seen Hiro since Friday night, but he did call to check in on me. I told him about the conversation with my mom and how I was relieved to hear she's doing well.

"That's awesome, baby." Hiro said happily. "I'm glad she's doing better. Did she say when she'd be home?"

"Shit... I forgot to ask." I huffed. "Next time I talk to her, I'll have to ask."

"Don't forget about our deal. Thursday, Dave N Busters." Hiro said.

"Oh, I haven't forgotten." I giggled. "I was going to remind you."

Hiro chuckled. "I haven't forgotten. Anyway, I'll see you in the morning. Sleep good."

"You sleep good, too." I said softly with a smile. After we hung up, I sat on my bed for a moment. I let out a deep breath and lied back. Tomorrow, I have to talk to Layla about rethinking our collage choice. I really don't want to be away from my mom right now. I want to be here for her. Then I'll tell Hiro what I decided too, though I don't think he'll talk me out of it.

The next morning, I got up, got dressed, and then grabbed my bag. I walked out the door. I smiled as I looked towards Hiro, who leaned against his black corvette. He wore a simple black shirt with blue jeans with black and white shoes. "Morning." I walked over to the car.

"Good morning, baby." Hiro smiled warmly. He and I got into the car. He started the car and then buckled up as I did. His dark eyes slowly shifted towards me. "Are you busy after school?"

"No, why?" I asked softly.

Hiro placed his hand on mine as he smiled. "I want to show you something."

I smiled as I nodded. "Ok." He gave a nod then pulled away from the curb. Once he pulled up in front of the school, I unbuckled my seatbelt and then looked at him. "See you later." "See you later." He smiled. I got out of the car and smiled as I closed his door. I watched him drive off, then turned to go inside.

"Hey girl." Kat and Amy greeted me at the door.

"Hey." I smiled. "Let's go find Lila, Riley, and Layla." I walked inside.

"Is everything ok?" Amy asked.

"Yeah." I nodded with a smile. "It's an update."

We walked through the halls until we found Riley, Lila, and Layla. Bailey, Jay, and Derek stood close to them, talking about practice. "Girls." I said. They looked towards me and then walked over to me.

"What's up, hun?" Riley asked.

"So, I was able to talk to my mom last night." I smiled.

"Oh my god, really? That's great!" Lila smiled happily.

"She's doing good. She sounds positive and upbeat. I forgot to ask when she gets to come home, but I'm just glad she is doing well. She apologized for all the years of not really being there for me as well." I explained.

"Sky, that's amazing." Riley smiled. "I'm so happy your mom is getting better."

"I am too... Which also brings up something I need to talk to Layla about." I turned to her.

"Girl, say no more. You know I would totally understand you not wanting to be far away from your mom." Layla said softly.

"Really? Are you sure?" I asked.

"Of course, Sky, we were in what middle school? We are older now, and I know how much your mom means to you." Layla placed her hands on my shoulders. "You got to do what's best for you. Being here for your mom is what you need and what she needs."

"Thank you for understanding and supporting me." I hugged Layla.

"That's what friends are for." Layla hugged me back. "No matter where we go, how far apart we are. We will always be friends. All of us."

"That's absolutely right." Kat agreed.

Riley, Lila, and Amy nodded in agreement as well. I couldn't ask for better friends. I couldn't imagine my life without them. "So, if you don't go for a collage in California, what collage would you go to, if any?" Lila asked.

"I was thinking I would take online courses." I looked at her. "Though, I'm not sure from which collage yet."

"We could always help you look into the different collages close by that offer online classes." Amy suggested.

"That would be great." I smiled.

"Shall we get started tonight?" Riley asked.

"Well, Hiro has something he wants to show me tonight."

"Oh." Kat smiled.

"He didn't tell you what it was?" Riley asked.

"No." I shook my head. "I'll keep you updated, though."

"How about Friday night?" Layla asked.

"I can do Friday night." Kat nodded.

"Friday works for me too." Amy said.

"I'll be there." Lila nodded.

"Friday it is, Sky?" Riley looked at me.

"That sounds perfect." I agreed.

We went to our classes. The day seemed to go by slowly, but I didn't mind. I was more focused on after school and what Hiro was planning. As I made my way down the hall towards the door, someone lightly tapped my shoulder. I turned slightly. "Hey, Sky." Brody said softly.

"What's up?" I asked.

"I just wanted to say that I'm glad your mom is doing better." Brody said. "I heard Lila and Riley talking about it with Jay and Bailey." He explained.

"Thanks." I gave a small smile.

"Sky." Ayden walked over to us.

"I'm almost afraid to ask..." I raised my brows.

"Who is that Hiro guy?" Ayden asked.

"No one you need to worry about." Brody huffed. "Leave her alone, Ayden."

"I'm talking to her, not you." Ayden glared.

"He's right. It's really none of your business. You're going to leave me alone and stay the hell away from him." I fully faced Ayden as I glared.
