I stepped outside, leaving Brody and Ayden. I took a deep breath as I looked towards the slick black corvette parked in front of the school. I walked over the car and opened the door. "Hi." I smiled as I got in.

Hiro smiled as I closed the door and buckled up. "Hey."

I shifted my eyes to his. "Are you ok?" I asked with concern.

"Yeah, I'm good." Hiro nodded.

I took in a deep breath. "You're not calling me baby. You always call me that..." I pointed out.

Hiro grinned. "Thought you didn't want me to call you baby?"

"I..." I paused. "Toshay."

Hiro chuckled. "Seriously, I'm good. There is nothing wrong."

"Ok." I nodded. "So, where are we going?"

"Just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. Baby." Hiro smirked as he pulled away from the curb. I smiled as I shook my head. I leaned my head back against the seat as he shifted gears. After about twenty minutes of him driving, he parked the car.

"The beach?" I said softly.

Hiro gave a nod and opened his door. I unbuckled my seatbelt and opened the door. I stepped out of the car as Hiro walked over to my side of the car. He closed the door for me, locked his car then grabbed my hand, walking towards the beach. I took in a deep breath, taking in the scent of the ocean. Once we got closer to the water, I stared out as the waves crashed onto the beach. I looked up at Hiro, who stared out at the water with a unreadable face.

"So, what's the occasion?" I asked softly, getting his attention.

Hiro looked down at me with a smile. "To talk."

"Talk about what?" I asked.

Hiro sat down in the sand then looked up at me. I sat down beside him, waiting patiently for him to speak. "I haven't really told you much about me... Like, Ruka and I never knew our father." He began. "We lost our mother when we were nineteen." He looked down. I fully faced him while listening intently to him. "Ruka and I learned to take care of ourselves, but Ruka looked out for me so much..." Hiro looked up. "I've learned that not everything needs a response and no one deserves a seat at my table if they don't respect me. I don't like cheaters or abusers... Why the fuck be in a relationship if all you're going to do is hurt the other person emotionally, physically or mentally." His eyes slowly shifted to mine.

"You know I'm a straightfoward kind of guy. I'm not going to sugar coat anything. I'm going to say exactly what I think and what I feel, whether someone likes it or not." I gave a nod in response to his statement. Hiro took in a deep breath. "I care about you, Sky. A lot. I know you want time to heal from what Brody did to you." I stared into his dark eyes as my heart seemed to beat loudly. "I want you to know, I'll be right here waiting. I'll wait as long as I have to."

"A-Are you saying..."

"That I have feelings for you and want to be with you, yes." Hiro nodded with a smile. "But, I'm telling you, that I will wait until you're ready."

"The girlfriends told my friends and I that you are pretty resiliant. They mentioned that you've been cheated on..."

Hiro nodded. "The girl I was with cheated on me with some Italian dude..."

"I'm sorry." I frowned.

"Don't be. She got what was coming to her. The Italian guy left her within like five days after seeing a Korean girl."

"Oh my god..." I shook my head. "W-Why? What was the point?"

Hiro shrugged. "I have absolutely no idea. That's why I've been single ever since."

"I'm still sorry you got hurt."

"It's alright, I bounced back." Hiro smiled. "I do have one question though..."

I nodded. "Ok."

"Ayden put you in the hospital... How did they not call the police?" Hiro asked.

"Because I told them I had a bike accident." I said softly.

Hiro raised his brows. "A bike accident? Why the hell would you do that?"

"Because I didn't want to get the police involved. That was before I learned that he was Brody's half brother. Ayden has also been getting help by going to anger managment classes." I explained.

Hiro let out a deep breath. "How did Brody not tell the doc the truth though? He was with you."

"He stayed in the waiting room, I was taken back alone." I said. "I was able to tell the doctor that I was riding my bike home from school I lost control of the bike and rolled down into a ditch."

Hiro shook his head. "You're never doing that again. Then again, you'll never get hurt again...."

"Because you'll hurt the person that does?" I asked with a smile.

Hiro nodded. "Or worse."

"Hiro..." I playfully smacked his arm. "No doing anything that will get you locked up."

Hiro tilted his head slightly as his eyes shifted upward. "I can't make any promises."

I shook my head. "Well... I should tell you that I decided to do online courses for collage."

Hiro looked directly at me. "Why?"

"Because I want to be close to my mom." I smiled.

Hiro smiled as he nodded. "I see. As long as you're happy, that's all that matters."

"I just feel it's the right thing to do."
