Levi sighed and shook his head. "Don't worry about it, Anthony," he said and pulled me closer to his body as if he was afraid that I would move away from him because he thought I wouldn't like what he had to say. "I have forgiven everyone a long time ago, especially since I knew that it wasn't their fault that I became stuck in this mess." He shrugged and grimaced, pressing his lips into a thin line.
"And we'll get you out of it," I promised, tucking my head closer to my chest and narrowing my eyes ever so slightly. "If that means that I have to kill some people to do it, then so be it." I growled and bared my teeth in warning, and my eyes flashed to that of my wolf while anger surged through my body. "I can not wait to dig my teeth into Mindy's flesh and show her what a true fighter I actually am."
My mate chuckled and pressed a small kiss to the side of my head, and I closed my eyes ever so slightly. "Just don't get killed, please," he said, his voice barely above a whisper while it cracked. He cleared his throat and shifted in his seat. "I don't know what I will do if I lose you, too."
I sighed and nodded, pressing my lips into a thin line. "It's hard to kill me, Levi," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. "They can attest to that." I nodded toward Corey and Anthony, and Corey giggled and nodded in confirmation.
"Ya, we have been through some shit," she said. She bounced her seat and a look of happiness and mischievousness filled her eyes while she stared at us. "I mean, there is this one time th-"
"Quit it," I said and bared my teeth in warning while I interrupted her, even though I had no idea where she was going to go with that comment but knowing full well that Levi and the group did not need to hear what had happened to me all of those years ago.
Corey stopped saying a word and turned to look at me with wide eyes. She did not say a word to me before she turned to look at Levi and smiled. "I guess that is all I can say," she said and shrugged, and the grin on her face appeared a second time.. "I do not know about you, but I do not want Lex so mad that she would rather kill me than let me live."
"Corey," I warned with a small growl in my voice. I bared my teeth further in warning at her when she looked at me, and she busted out laughing before she nodded.
"Ok, ok," she said. "I get it, Love. I am going to be quiet about everything for right now."
I growled and rolled my eyes but didn't say a word while I took a sip of my tea, silently praying that she would be quiet about everything that had happened because I was not in the mood to get into any fights with her.
It was bad enough that we still had to discuss what was going to happen to the pack now that both of us were underneath this asshole's control...
"So what is the plan now?" Miguel asked as if he knew what I was thinking and the fact that I wanted the conversation to change before I lost my temper another time in the span of whatever. "Do you think you will be able to know when you are going under his control?"
"Sh-"
"I am sure that I will be able to," I said and nodded, interrupting Levi from saying anything. I ignored the look that Levi sent my way and kept an eye on my stand in Beta. "If I act more robotic like and not saying a word, then you will know that I am under his control, and I need you to stay away from me. Do not say anything about the pack because I want to make sure that they don't know anything from my point of view, and I don't want them to know what we have been keeping hidden from him." I gestured toward my mate, and he grew tense but didn't move away from me.
"Done," Aaron said and nodded. "What if there are going to be times when you have to act as someone else?" He raised an eyebrow in question while he looked at me.
