I wake up from the nightmare... where Damiao let his father take me, that his father was back from his journey! But as my eyes adjust to the candle-lit room, I see bars around me. I'm in a cage, in a cell. I sit up straight, but instantly regret it, my head spins slightly. "Crap" I whisper. I look around there's an empty cell on either side of mine and three across from me. "Crap." I say again. I'm sitting on a wooden bench or bed, and a flimsy, thin, and dirty blanket covers my legs.
It wasn't a nightmare. It was damn real.
I look to the ceiling thick dark wooded planks. There's no way out, except the celldoor. My heart speads up as I hear footsteps coming from a far corner to the left, I lay back down and pretend to sleep. "Blast! She's still asleep." A gruff voice says annoyed. "How much Valerian did you give her?" Another deep voice asks. "Apperently a lot." The gruff voice answers sarcasticly. The deep voice sighs. "Wake her up then. Capt'n ain't waiting." The deep voice states and walks away. I hear the cell door's lock click open, and he pulls it open. He shakes me vigorously. But I keep my eyes closed. He brings his face closer, his flint breathe against my face. And then I punch him. Hard. I open my eyes I jump out of bed, he's lying on the floor groaning. He covers his nose with both hands. I crouch down next to him and punch him unconscious. Making my hand throb of pain. I run out of the cell and close it with the lock clicking closed. I run to the steps where they came from, but stop in my tracks to grab a dark-blue hanging robe. I pull it on and put the hood over my head. And I quickly walk up to the stairs. I open the door to the deck and there's a few men working. I take a deep breathe and try to stay unoticed. I walk up to the gang-plank.
"You're just like your mother." A voice says from the toop-deck. I know that voice... that voice killed my mother, my father, and he is the father of a man, I'm not so sure I could trust anymore.
Casimero Ladron.
I look up to face him, I'm so close to the gangplank... I could just run. His black beard making his eyes look darker and crueler. "Agatha Pan." I say. He snarls. "No, Agatha Hook. She never belonged to that pathetic, weak, rat." He hisses the last words. "My father was not a rat! You're the true rat in this story!" I say running down the plank, I run faster than I've ever ran before. "I will find you." He yells from the ship. I run into the town bumping into some people.
This was a bad idea.... I don't know where to go!
"Wow, slow down there." A deep voice says, as I accidently trip into him. I look up at him he's a head and a bit taller than me, with hazel eyes. He frowns as he searches my face. "Are you all right, miss?" He asks gently. "Please. Help me. They're after me." I plea. He looks over my head back at the crowd and then takes my hand. "I know a safe place." He says pulling me with him.
We walk through the crowd quickly until where on a much quieter street and a sign that says: BlackSmith. He opens up the door and lets me in. "My name's Warrick." He says, letting go of my hand. "Esme." I say as I take a seat near a table covered in weapons, old and new. "My father and sister are out. They'll be back soon." He says feeding a soon-to-be fire. "Thank you for helping me." I say. "Tea? And you're welcome." He says, as the fire lits. "Tea please." I answer. "Is there a way off this Island?" I ask after he gives me a cup of tea. He chuckles. "Only the docks." He answers. "Is there really no other way?" I take a sip of the warm tea. It's delicious. He sighs.
"There is another way out of the cave, but not off the island." I take another sip. "Is there water there?" I ask. "Yes. It's a beach." He answers. "Why?" He frowns. "I got a mermaid friend." I answer, taking another sip. "Mermaid? You know that's forbidden, right? Then again pirates don't listen to the rules, but still!" He contenplates. "I don't live here. I'm from Isla Nunca Mas." I retort. He freezes.
"Who is after you?" He whispers. "Casimero Ladron, and probably his duaghter Maria." I say quietly. "Will you help me?" I ask, looking him right in the eyes. He sets his jaw. He thinks for a few moments. "I'll take you there. But I'm not staying... if I get caught my family will be in danger." He says. "Then let's not get caught." I say, putting my cup down on the wooden table.

We are in town again, a few hours later. We stay in the quiet dark streets. We make a lot of turns until we're at the end of the town and the cave wall is in front of us. He rests his hand against the wall to feel his way, until we stop in front of a shadow. "It's dark for a few strides, but you'll see the beach soon." He says, motioning that it's actually a tunnel not a a shadow. "Thanks, for helping me." I say, walking in.
It's so dark I can't even see my hands. But I hear the waves crashing onto the beach. And all I can do is pray that my plan will work.
