"She escaped." Theo says from the lower-deck. I look down at him confused. "What?" I ask. "Esme. She escaped the ship, they're on the hunt for her." He explains. I look up at the town ahead of me. "Scatter and if you find her, hide her where she won't be found and come find me!" I order the crew, and they scatter. I walk down the steps to the lower-deck and make my way to the Gangplank with Theo right next to me. "Are you all right?" He asks. "The love of my life probably hates me, and is on a run for her life... how do you think I'm feeling?" I snap at him. We reach the town and move through the crowd. He stayes quiet, and I instantly feel guilty. "I'm sorry." I say. "I shouldn't blame you for what happened, it is all on me." I say looking around the dark corners, for her... the only person worth living for.
"It is not your fault. He came out of nowhere!" He says, looking around as well. I look over to him, but before I could say anything, I see movement. Two figures moving away from us to the other street. I follow them, as they cross the street, a flicker of light shows on the smaller figure's face... and there she is. With a stranger. I follow them, Theo is behind me. We reach the end of the town and I see her walk into a shadow leaving the blonde guy behind... he looks around then runs away. "Find the crew and set sail. Get out before anyone notices your gone." I explain. "What about you?" Theo asks. Look at him sternly. "We'll find a way. Now. Go." I say slowly. and he does as he's ordered.
As I reach the end of the dark tunnel I see her standing there looking around, on the beach. "Esme." I call softly. She freezes. "Was it all a lie?" She whispers, I could almost not hear. I step closer to her, her back still facing me. "No." I say. "Do you love me?" She asks, her body shaking. And I want to scream at the world for making her feel like she need to be terrified in my presence. "Yes, always have and always will." I promise. "Are you going to take me back? To your father?" She asks, slowly turning to face me. "I will help you get back to your brother." I say with a small smile. "Is this a trick?" She asks quietly. Her blue eyes red, tears sliding down her soft cheeks. "I will never let you get hurt, I will never betray you." I vow. "I love you." I whiper, brushing her tears away with my thumbs, cupping her face. "But we need go now, before they find us." I say, I take her hand, pulling her back to the cave's entrance.
But as we were about to enter the cave, voices stop me in my tracks, they are far away but close enough. "She could be anywhere!" A voice says. I turn to face her and she' bewildered. I look around and I got a plan as I look at the cliff.
I pull her to the very small ridge path against the cliff. I will not let her hand go... never ever again. "Stay against the wall." I say sliding my body as I take another step. The water crashes againts the rock below us, spray kisses my face. "What is the plan exactly?" She asks over the waves. I turn my head to look at the beach and there they are, bloody pirates. They look around and then one looks in our direction and calls the rest to look. I breathe in slowly. "Grab my waist and take a deep breathe in. We're going to jump." I explane, fixing my footing. We are a few feet above the water. "Jump?" She asks loudly, her eyes are wide. "Trust me." I smirk. She grabs my waist and I hold her tightly against me. And then we jump, I try to push far enough so that we wouldn't hit anything at the bottom. I close my eyes at mid-fall. And cold water crushes around us. I open my eyes, as we slightly start to sink, Esme looks up at me two lines appear between her brows. Her hair starts to float around as well as her dress. And I pray my plan works otherwise this will be our death. Bubbles start to leave Esme's mouth as she tries to hold her breathe, she starts to get franktic, and then I kiss her to give her some air.
I move my hands to cup her cheek and I feel her body moving closer to mine, as she wraps her arms around my back and neck, and we're both fading into the kiss. I feel like this kiss is a magic bubble that will forever keep us in this moment. But suddenly the water dissappears and I feel a freezing cold breeze hits my forehead. Esme pulls away, and I open my eyes, squenting from the bright sunlight. We're back on Isla Nunca Mas. On the beach... not alone.
Delja and Ainsley watches us, as Esme takes a second to realize what just happened. "You're safe." Ainsley sighs, as he comes closer to hug her tightly. "I'm safe." She whispers over his shoulder. "Delja." I greet as she looks over to me. Her eyes dart between me and Ainsley as a warning. Ainsley freezes at the sound of my voice, he pulls away from Esme to look at me. His face in total anger, he looks like he's going to kill me.
At least I ca go in peace knowing Esme is safe again... but not for long.
He pounces at me tumbling as to the soft sand. "I'm going to kill you!" He declares. "Ainsley!" Esme yells at him, as he punches my face over and over again. My cheeks are burning, and then I feel something slowly slides down my cheekbone. Blood. "Ainsley! If you kill him, I will leave this place and never come back." Esme threatens. He growls in frustration, as he stops from hitting me for the 20th time. He stands up and looks at Esme.
Esme holds out her hand for me, I takeit and then she tries to cover it with her other hand, she pulls me up with a lot of effort. When I'm on my feet I sway a little and she catches me, her hand on my chest. "You concussed him!" She scolds at Ainsley. My one eyes is starting to swell. "He deserved it." He mumbles. Delja moves her hands and a small floating ball of water is next to her, then she gives him a hard water smack on the cheek to shut him up from saying anything else. I like her. "Ow." He whispers to her as he rubs his cheek. "Don't even Ain." Delja warns.
I look at Esme again, but she's starring at her brother. "It's okay." I whisper in her ear. She looks up at me.Searching my eyes. "I deserved it." I whisper, looking down at my feet. "Help us, to kill your dad, and convince me to trust you again." She says quietly. My heart drops slightly. "I will help you, Esme... I'm always with you." I assure. She nods and walks away, with Delja and Ainsley. I look back at the ocean looking at Isla Maldita. "We're coming for you." I whisper into the wind.
