"We will marry even you don't love me right now. But you will." Connor says next to me with a smirk I used to crave... now it's only annoyance. Warrick is held by one of my father's men, and he's walking right behind me. "I don't really see the appeal." Warrick mermurs. I clench my jaw. IDOIT!!!!!
"What did you say?" Connor snaps at Warrick. "Nothing." Warrick answers. Then Connor tsks and continues walking, my father is ahead of the group, we're third in line. "You just seem pathetic." Warrick says to Connor. Connor was about to hit Warrick but I stop him. "Don't." I warn. Connor looks at me and Warrick with malice. He drops his hand, and I turn to face my favorite hazel eyes. I look up at him, which makes me feel smaller. "If you want to live. Keep you danm mouth shut." I say slowly. His face stays blank, but I can see in his eyes he wants to smirk. "Like a Clam?" He asks, his eyes sparkeling. I sigh. "Yes." I say through gritted teeth. I'm in love with a bloody stupid arrogant idiot! Then we continue walking.
After a few minutes I trip over a rock, and Connor catches me with a grunt. "Watch where you're walking. Mia." He says annoyed. I smoothly snatched his keys when I push him away. "Sorry, I'll make sure I step on your bloody foot next time." I say, giving a quick smile and return to walking. I feel his glare against my righ cheek. I then coughed as if it went down the wrong hole. That's the cue for the first part.
The group freezes when they hear a loud russeling deeper into the jungle. I make sure to make it an abrumt stop so that I could give the keys to Warrick behind me as he bumps into my back. "Keep your eyes pealed!" Someone says in front of us. And Connor repeats it to the back of the group. The person who made the sound stopped and we started walking again. But one of the men goes toward the area where the sound was with a sword in each hand. But he comes backa few moments later not finding anything.
"You know, it's been a while since our last training session... would you be able to handle it?" Connor asks after a while. I give him a glare. Was he always like this? And I didn't realize? "Are you saying that becuase you think that you're out of practice?" I retort. "No." He growls. "I did get practice in... just with someone else." I say thinking back to when me and Warrick met and had a dagger fight. I try to hide my smile.
The second part of the plan is almost here. We cross a small river that is around two feet wide. Damiao told me this morning that after the small river there is a few apple trees just before the village. And so, the next cue is for me to grab an apple and throw it in the air above my head. "Red as blood." I say quickily cutting a dark red apple on a low branch. And then I throw it over my head.
And all havoc is loose!
