Chapter Forty One

September 1st 1996

Bronwyn woke that morning to a strong grip around her waist, deep breaths tickled her shoulder and a pressure against her back. It was the morning of September 1st and it was clear that the breaking of the bubble both teens had been inside of was difficult for them both. Especially considering Blaise had become a teddy bear the night prior and not let go of her.

"Good Morning my Raven." She jolted at the sound of Blaise's voice not expecting him to be awake yet. But happily surprised. And as he tugged her closer in she moved to turn to face him.

"Good morning handsome." She greeted back her hand moving to gently rub at his face feeling the softness of his cheeks.

"Shit you're so pretty in the morning." Blaise commented and Bronwyn smiled back a small gentle one she reserved only for him before leaning forwards to softly press their lips together. A small peck was all she gave before moving backwards, but this was not enough as Blaise pulled her back recapturing her lips with his own and her hand moved from his cheek to the side of his neck as she took the step required to deepen the kiss between them more.

"You're my everything Blaise." Bronwyn spoke as the pair pulled apart, her hand moving back up to gently caress his face. "I don't want to go back, I cannot be without our times in the morning." She noted unsure if she could ever fall asleep now without him by her side. But she knew she had to, they still had two more years of school left to complete and they resided in completely different school houses. If only she had been sorted into another house, one where her presence even in his common room wouldn't create a stir. Maybe she should have listened to the hat all those years ago.

'You are meant for more than to live in your family's shadows'

It had once told her, and maybe just maybe she had made the mistake of begging it to place her in Gryffindor. To allow her to be with the rest of her family. To be with Harry. Because now, now that was all backfiring on her and she wasn't sure she was going to be able to cope.

"I'm going to miss waking up to you in the morning. If I could change it so we could I would." Blaise too seemed torn by the revelation and Bronwyn wished she had kept the thought to herself. She didn't like that it had been her words to upset him, even if the reasoning for those words were out of both of their control. "You're my safe space Wyn." Blaise added on, and it was words she had never heard him say before. But words which changed everything.

For Blaise had become her safe space months prior. All back to when they were only just study partners in the library. When he had allowed her to fall asleep against his arms, when he had remained silent allowing her to rest and protecting her from any outside disturbance. But she had never thought it was a returned sentiment, but the words were enough to make her heart race with pure euphoria.

Platform 9 and 3/4s had never changed, a testament to infrastructure Bronwyn was unsure if could ever change. She was sure when it came to sending her own children off to school that it would be identical. What had changed was how she had arrived, she was so used to the chaos of which surrounded the Weasley family on the 1st of September that she had been completely unable to imagine arriving in any other fashion. But as she stood on the platform ready to step onto the train she felt strange. Her brown eyes searched the platform for any other signs of ginger hair the shade matching her own. Her father should be easy enough to pick out from the crowd with his height, but there was an unsettled feeling in her stomach. Because she could not count that her mother would not make an appearance. She knew her father had kept the promise of breaking from the woman but she couldn't predict what Molly Weasley would do.
