Chapter Thirty Eight
Daphne Odora

Bronwyn smiled as she looked down upon her left hand, she had been unable to fully tear her gaze away from the new ring she wore in the hours since she had been gifted it. It was strange how a single piece of jewellery was more than enough to squash any anxiety she felt flittering in her body. It felt like having that string, the one which aligned her future, encouraged her to ignore everything else. To the point where she was stood outside the large estate which belonged to the Greengrass Family and for once, her mind was not screaming at her danger. Perhaps it was the ring causing this or maybe it was the interlaced fingers between herself and her boyfriend. Bronwyn did not know the exact cause and in this moment in time she did not care.

Yet before the two teenagers could even knock upon the front door of the massive house Bronwyn was stopped upon the steps. She turned to look at Blaise, who was stood beside her confused as to why he had suddenly stopped. He had been very bright about the entire situation before them, wanting more than anything for Bronwyn to get along with his friends. Or at least the ones he thought possible for her to get along with, Draco Malfoy would be off the table for a long time if not ever. Not that Blaise considered the tall blonde boy a friend much anymore.

"Is everything okay?" Bronwyn took on the kind comforting tone that she knew he had been using more of around her recently, but for once she could see the anxiety she was used to seeing swirling in her own eyes reflected in his.

"Just thank you for doing this Winnie." Blaise's words were not loud but they were strong enough that she could hear them clearly.

"You don't need to thank me love." Bronwyn shook her head at the craziness of his statement. Sure she had been reluctant that morning, but she knew that this was important to him. She knew that he really did want her and his friends to get along.

"I know you haven't had it easy at school, and a lot of my friends were probably the root cause of it. I just want to thank you for trying, for me." Blaise shrugged moving to pull the witch into his arms.

"Your friends are important to you so this is important to me." Bronwyn had pulled back as she spoke motioning the area around her when speaking of 'this'. Because she truly meant it, sure she didn't really think she needed more friends she had her sister, she had Hermione and the rest of the girls in her dorm. The group having become closer and closer knit over the last few months. In theory she had her group of friends but she was open to at least getting to know Blaise's group. She didn't need to become best friends with them, but she knew that she would be hearing more and more about them and it would make sense to actually know something abut the people she was learning about. And she supposed it helped that they were all traditional wizards and witches in the way her friends were not. Well her friends other than Parvati that was.

"I promise they're going to love you."

"Just not as much as you do huh?" Bronwyn teased as she focused her attention back on the front door making the move to knock upon it. Knowing otherwise that Blaise would put it off to continue to distract them both from what they had actually attended the house to do. She felt his marginal taller figure stand behind her and she knew he was itching to connect them. But the front door swung open before he could act on any of the impulses.

Upon the other side of the door was not a house elf like Bronwyn was expecting, perhaps she had become incredibly used to seeing the Zabini family elves answering the door over the last few weeks. Rather she came to face with a familiar blonde girl. Daphne Greengrass stood before her, in the same elegance and bravado she was used to seeing the older girl sport. The main difference was that the blonde was not in her Hogwarts uniform and that was the thing which was taking the most to adjust to, seeing people not in their school uniform. Rather she stood before the two much taller teens in dress robes of the lightest pink, decorated in glittering panels all of which made her look like a princess. And Bronwyn just knew there was little chance she could pull something like that off, and she had grown a deep love for the deep Navy colour she currently wore, the colour of which matched her boyfriend beside her.
