When did it drift from a strong interest, a desire towards an obsession? Where was the line drawn between interest and obsessed? According to psychologists obsession, whether it be over an object, a task or an individual, occurred when the thoughts, feelings or other actions became persistent intrusive and caused dysfunction or significant distress to the person experiencing it. Obsession was often used when it was not necessary, and only when a person had a strong interest in whatever they were obsessing over. For true obsession was often darker in origin, and linked to a mental health condition such as obsessive compulsive disorder.
For Harry James Potter his love for his best friend leeched into obsession before he had even noted the occurrence. When he no longer held the occasional thought regarding Bronwyn Weasley that bumped into him when he least expected it. But when he thought about her constantly, how she was doing, what she was up to, where she was. And most importantly, how she had left him behind and moved onto the nasty snake that was Blaise Zabini. Harry had struggled for months now to understand what Bronwyn had seen in the other boy. For, if it was money she was after the Potter vaults had more in it than he could ever understand. If it was fame she was after, then he was by far the most famous wizard in their generation and it would be unlikely that anyone could ever pass him. The only thing that Blaise had that Harry did not, was height. He had cursed and screamed over his height never passing 5 foot 8 for a long while, and now even more that Bronwyn towered over him in her six feet plus of beauty. He wanted nothing more than to be up there with her, so he could look her in the eye and tell her daily how stunning she is. But it had never come, and Harry had tried everything over the last summer to try and fix it with no luck.
He had also tried incredibly hard since they had returned to school four months ago to prove to Bronwyn that he was the right person for her. He had taken the time to try to walk her to each lesson, even when she had told him not to. He had spent time doing homework for the both of them, so she did not have to even though she had told him to stop several times. He had complemented her every morning even when she did not look at him whilst he spoke. Harry had tried everything but he had no response. He had nothing following this, and he had found himself becoming more and more desperate as the weeks went by and Bronwyn pulled more and more away from him.
He had found her first, he had given up friendship with Malfoy for her. Surely that had to mean something. Something more than whatever gold and other shiny things that Blaise Zabini had given her. He could get her mother back. Harry knew that Bronwyn had to be missing having Molly Weasley in her life. He was missing having the motherly figure around and he had only known her a few years. So surely, if he missed being doted on by Molly then surely Bronwyn missed her mother doting on her too. Blaise could not do that, not if he was the reason that Molly and Bronwyn did not get along anymore.
