THE LAST MISSION

CHAPTER 37

"Nagalala ako kaya sinundan kita."

"And you think that will ease my anger? No. Something could have happened to you. And look at this." he pointed at the man. " What happened? Are you hurt?" Malumanay niyang saad.

Napatingin ako sa lalaki nasa paanan ko at hindi man lang ako tinanong ni Gauis kung ako ba ang may gawa sa sitwasyon ng lalaki ngayon. Hinawakan niya ang pulsuhan ko at inayos ang buhok.

"Ayos lang ako. Pasensya na hindi na mauulit." He glared at me first before checking the man.

"Okay lang ba siya? Nakita ko sila nakahandusay kaya tinulongan ko." Pagsisinungaling ko. He checked the pulse and I heard him mumble something. Hawak-hawak parin niya ang pulsuhan ko na parang anong oras ay tatakbo ako papalayo sa kanya.

"He is losing a lot of blood. In short, he's dying." He said, but I can sense that he doesn't really care. I bit my lower lip and held his forearm. Agad siya napatingin sakin at nakasalubong ang mga kilay.

"Tulongan natin siya. Please..." I used the paawa effect because I know that it will work. He doesn't like the idea of what I just said, and I can see it in his face.

"Why? What if he's a bad guy or something?" He shrugged and pulled me closer.

"Pero hindi ako makakatulog kung may tao dito sa labas na nagaagaw buhay."

He looked at me for a second and I met his eyes to let him know I'm a serious and concerned innocent girl. I've done this a lot of times in my mission. Not to mention this man is a fool sometimes. He sighed and cursed silently.

"Fine. But after you're done with him you'll tell me." I nodded as a response. I made sure the blood stopped from flowing before Gauis carried him, and I carried his bag and his sniper in front.

"Come here." He stopped and pulled me beside him.

Wala kaming kahit anong ilaw na gamit pero nagawa naming umuwi sa bahay niya. Nilagay niya sa extrang kwarto ang lalaki at agad naman ako kumuha ng first aid. Pumasok ako sa kwarto at nakita si Gauis na nilalagyan ng posas ang lalaki na walang malay. Gauis watched me walk near them and I immediately checked the man's pluse. It's getting weaker. I didn't waste time and removed the clothes I used to stop the blood. I made sure I cleaned my hand before touching his wounds. Wala na akong pake kung masaktan siya at tinahi ang mga sugat na ginawa ko.

Gauis is quietly watching me perform, and I'm too focused to even mind him. This man can't die yet. I still need him. I will kill him painfully and slowly. Ang tama sa mata nang lalaki ay hindi ganon ka lalim kaya hindi kritikal ang sitwasyon nita gyapon. He needs more blood.

Natapos ko siya gamutin at tumayo na ako at tinignan ang sarili. Maraming dugo sa damit at kamay ko. Wala na akong oras para maglagay ng gloves.  I sighed and took a glance at Gauis only to see him looking at me with dark eyes. I gulped and looked away.

"How did you know how to stitch. You look so professional." He is crossing his arms, looking at me intently.

"Well... Uhm... Medic kasi ako noong high school at college ako. Kaya may alam ako sa mga ganito." I unconsciously scratch my cheek and immediately regret it because my hands are full of blood.

I heard Gauis tsked. Lumapit siya sakin at walang sabi pinunasan ng marahan ang pisnge ko. I blinked twice. I can feel his soft hand, and he also smells good. While I stink.

"Do I smell bad?" I asked shyly. He smirked and shook his head. "Never." He replied using his deep voice and it was so soft to hear.

"Never do that again. If I told you to stay put. You stay."
