THE LAST MISSION

CHAPTER 39

"Hala ka dyan!" Rinig ko mula sa kabilang linya. Agad ko kinuha ang napkin at pinahid sa labi at mesa.

"Gulat na gulat akala mo naman kamag-anak ka." Napairap ko sa sinabi ni Papa.

"Ikaw talaga. Wag po ipagkalat 'yan. Baka fake news 'yan at ipakulong kapa."

Bumuntong hininga ako at hindi mawala sa isip ang sinabi ni Papa. Kaya pala wala siya ng ilang araw. May engagement pala ito inaasikaso. Wala sa sarili ako napahawak sa kwentas ko. May girlfriend na pala siya pero bakit ganon ang trato niya sakin. I was assuming he was flirting with me. He was just being nice in the first place. Ang tanga ko naman.

After we chatted for an hour I left. I was about to return but a small flower shop got my attention. I saw pink peonies and didn't think twice about buying them. They wrap the ten pieces of peonies in the magazine. I smiled and smelled the flowers. At least this made my heart a little bit calm.

I got back, and I did my usual routine, which is to clean everything and make sure the dogs eat. Ganon palagi ang trabaho ko ng ilang araw. Hindi parin siya bumalik at hindi na ako umasa pa na tatawag siya. It was fine that he wasn't here, nakakalabas ako.

May pumunta sa likod ng bahay, sa entrance at sa pintuan ko. I took out the gun and the silencer that I took from the man last time. I locked the bathroom door, but Golden stopped it and went out. I smirked. He is so ready for playtime. Lumabas siya sa bathroom doon kona nilock ang pinto. Lumuhod ako at hinaplos ang aso ko.

"You miss this don't you?"

I stopped when I heard the door click. Dali-dali ako nagtago sa likod ng pintuan at si Golden naman sa ilalim ng kama ko. The person entered slowly, and when he finally got in, I closed the door, and Golden immediately attacked him after he turned around to me. Golden bites his thigh. Mabilis ko tinakpan ang bibig niya at tinutukan siya ng baril.

"Who are you?"

He shook his head. He had a mask, so I took it off Then he used that opportunity to scream. I cursed and put the tip of the silencer to his mouth.

"Fine," I said blankly and knocked him off. Ayoko pumatay. Baka magnanakaw lang. I looked around and saw my shoelaces. Tinali ko sa kamay niya at paa. It's temporary. I have to be fast before he wakes up.

I stood up and signed after realizing I'm wearing a night dress. I don't have a  slipper. I tied my hair first before going out. Pumunta ako sa kitchen at kumuha ng kutsilyo. Pinakagat ko iyon kay Golden na nakasunod sa likod ko. Sumilip ako at nakita bukas na ang pinto sa entrance. Ibig sabihin ay nasa loob na sila. Putik bakit kasi ang lalaki na'yon. You live alone yet you have a big house! What the hell?

"Stay."

Golden stayed hidden at the counter. I went to the living room and no one was there. That's when I realized maybe they are not thieves at all. I immediately went to the man's room and saw one man standing outside. I shot his leg and knocked him off, then someone came out of the room and started attacking. He's fast and strong.
