Chapter 28: The Visit

We stayed in the hospital for days. Thank God Rage is doing fine now. The doctor told us that he can go home tomorrow.

Rage was staring at the door. Thunder just left. "What's wrong, baby?" paglalambing ko sa kaniya.

I already told him everything. "Is he really my father, mommy?" I chuckled by that question. Ano kaya ang iniisip ng makulit na batang ito?

"Hmm... he is, baby. Is there a problem?" he shook his head. Telling me that it's nothing. But I know my son better. "What's wrong hmm? Tell mommy na." I even pouted para lang sabihin niya.

"Mas gwapo ba siya, mommy? I noticed that we almost look like twins." he pouted, way more than mine. "What? No way! My Rage is the most handsome person I know. He might be your dad but he can't level your looks, baby!" pangungulit ko sa kaniya.

Natuloy ang pagkukulitan naming dalawa.

Ang bilis ng panahon...

I'm currently packing his things. It's time for him to go to Thunder's house now. We already had our agreement. Rage seems like he doesn't want to but I told him that he should give his daddy a chance. He's still his father after all.

He just stood at the door holding his ipad. He seemed bored. He almost jumped from his place when he heard the doorbell rang.

"Oh your father's here." he pouted.

Awww my cute baby.

"Do I really need to go to daddy's house, my?" I tied his shoelaces. "Yes, baby. We've already talked about this naman, diba? Just for three days in a week, okay? You going to your daddy's house doesn't mean na you'll not gonna go home here na. So let's stick to it muna ha? Be friendly with your daddy."

He bit his lip, clearly torn. Sanay siyang ako ang kasama niya, hindi ang isang lalaking halos hindi niya kilala.

Pagbaba ko nakita ko si Thunder sa sasakyan niya. His car was idling, and he stood there awkwardly, hands in his pockets.

Rage clung to my leg the moment he saw him.

"Anak," I whispered, brushing his hair. "Kay Daddy ka muna ngayon. Okay? Baby?"

Thunder crouched down, trying to smile. "Rage, do you want to eat ice cream later? I know a store." but Rage just hid his face in my legs, shaking his head.

Napapikit ako. Alam ko namang may scenario na ganito. This was harder than I thought.

Thunder stood slowly, guilt flashing in his eyes.
He wasn’t the bad guy, but in Rage’s young mind, he was a stranger.

Thunder's POV:

The whole ride with my son was a total silence. I tried to open up a conversation but he just showed me the look of "do-i-look-like-im-interested". It was painful to watch, but maybe he's just not used to. I'm a stranger for him after all.

The house felt too big for just the two of us.

If only Amora's here. I can still hear her laugh in each rooms like how it used to. Or did we even have a good memory of this house?

I watched Rage out of the corner of my eye as he sat stiffly on the couch, arms crossed, clutching his ipad. He wouldn't even look at me.

"Hey, Rage..." I tried, forcing a gentle smile. "Are you hungry? I can make pancakes. Or spaghetti."

He shrugged, eyes glued to the floor. "I’m not hungry," he mumbled.

I didn't know what I was doing.
