thirty-five.

Bram Stoker has regained his full body and power. He's lanky and tall, towering over everyone present, but still somehow moving with the grace of royalty. The process of the sword removal was horrifying. Chuuya had to use all of his strength to pull the deeply rooted sword out of the vampire's body. The pain was so awful, that even the usually composed prince of darkness had to shout out in agony. It was all uphill from there, and Bram Stoker was finally back to his former glory. The sword, that would be considered beautiful in a regular situation, was now nothing short of a nightmare. The roots growing from every side of the blade shrunk down and fell off soon after it was removed from Bram's body, but the dried blood and bodily fluids remained.

The job of getting rid of it fell to you. It was only natural. Bram couldn't stand to look at it, Chuuya was exhausted and Aya couldn't really do anything about it. But as it stands now, you can't destroy it. You simply don't have the power to do so - first, you must rescue Atsushi and only with the tiger's power can you really destroy the sword for good. Until that happens, you've hidden it, deep inside Anne's room. Nobody but you and Lucy Montgomery know its specific location, and she has sworn to protect the secret with her life.

After hiding the sword, you return to the trio in Chuuya's apartment. Immediately, Bram bows to you deeply. "I could not be more grateful to you, Y/n. Without your assistance I could not have regained my full strength. I am grateful to you as well, young Lord and Lady. As promised on the fateful night of my rescue, I now give my body under your command. Use me as you wish."

You shake your head at his devotion, throwing yourself on the sofa. "While I appreciate your conviction, there are so many other things we need to deal with first." You sigh, stretching your arms out. "For example, allies. There's only four of us here. Do you really think we could go against Fukuchi as we are, alone?"

An uncomfortable silence falls on the small group and you immediately regret the way you worded your thoughts. "I mean, we totally could, it's just... I have some friends, whose abilities could prove very useful against our final opponent."

Chuuya opens his mouth, about to question you further, when his phone rings. He looks at the caller ID, finger hovering over the screen for a second. He declines the call with a determined tap and a nod to himself.

You tilt your head. "Who's calling?"

"Nobody important. Not anymore, anyway," he shakes his head. "I made my choice."

Your mind flashes back to your previous conversation. I would choose you without hesitation. Heat rushes to your face. He really meant it.

"Who are you talking about? Who are these friends?" Chuuya redirects the topic back to your plans.

"Oh, you'll see~" Your voice trails off in a sing-songy tone.

Aya's eyes sparkle at your confidence."Does this mean you have a plan?"

"If a clever plan is what you have crafted, I shall follow it blindly," the prince of darkness nods approvingly.

You smile mysteriously. "Let's just say that 30 minutes from now, we have a date."

The trio exchanges confused glances. "A date?"

In a public park, three men and a young woman are standing close together, waiting. The young woman with two long red braids shuffles her feet, looking around. Her face lights up when she spots you, but you gesture for her to stay quiet. The first of the men is tall, with reddish brown hair and a beige coat. He's staring at the sky, lost deep in thought. The second one's face is obscured by shaggy hair. The most notable thing about him isn't his long black coat, but the racoon on his shoulder and his meek expression, as he clutches his hands around a book. The last member of the little group, the shorter brown haired man, is clearly impatient. He's looking at the watch on his wrist, tapping his foot rapidly. So the logical course of action to you, of course, is to throw yourself at him without warning. As your arms wrap themselves around Sakaguchi Ango from behind, he has to try and not tumble over.
