" First, you think the worst is a broken heart
What's gonna kill you is the second part
And the third is when your world splits down the middle
And fourth, you're gonna think that you fixed yourself
Fifth, you see them out with someone else
And the sixth is when you admit you may have fucked up a little"
Six Degrees of Separation, The Script, #3You want to know what really awkward? I've already had my brother who wasn't my brother see me with only a bra on my top half. This? This is much, much worse. Both Zachery and I were under the blankets of my bed - which is surprising because my bed isn't that big to begin with - and we were... how can I put this delicately? We weren't wearing clothes. Gentle enough? Oh no, that's not the bad part. The bad part was that when I opened my eyes, big brother was standing beside the bed with his arms crossed and an honestly frightening expression on his face.
Zachery's arm rests over the scarred tissue of my bare stomach, his forehead resting on the back of my neck, his warm breath tickling the small hairs at the base of my neck. He was still asleep and I was hoping to keep it that way. Quite honestly, I was surprised that he wasn't already awake. I'm generally a late sleeper myself.
Looking from my angry brother to the clock on the bedside table, I notice it's only 7 in the morning. Now it's my turn to be angry. "You're here at 7 in the morning?!" I shout in a whisper at Loki.
"Oh I'm sorry. Was I interrupting something?" He sarcastically replied, his stone expression not changing, his eyes whirling like green storms and was it just me or did they look brighter?
"I sure hope you aren't. Otherwise that sucks."
"Get out of bed. Now."
"Yeah, no. Not happening."
"Why not?"
"Because I'm not dressed."
"And why's that?" I glare at him but his hard shell remains unmoved, except for the raise of one eyebrow. "Go on Andrea, I dare you to answer the fucking question." He spat, making me flinch slightly. I don't think I have ever heard him angry. Ever.
"It's not what it looks like." I state simply.
"It's not?" He places a hand on his chest and looks at me. "Because it looks like you're both naked as the day you were born under those sheets. Get. Out. Of. Bed. Now Andrea!" Loki's outburst made Zachery wake with a start. I felt his head lift from its positon on my neck before his entire body went rigid. He had seen Loki. Just great.
"Turn around first." I saw him roll his eyes before doing as I asked. Zachery let me go without too much of a complaint before getting out and pulling on his clothes as I did the same.
Once we were both decent, Loki turned around I think Zachery tried to hide behind me, which failed fantastically because he was taller than I was. For a while, Loki remained silent just staring at the two of us. It was unnerving to say the least. I hated the you-could-hear-a-pin-drop silence; Loki's piercing gaze and the heat behind me that reminded me of why Loki was in such a state.
"Zachery, leave." I felt Zachery shift behind me a little at Loki's sharp tone, before grabbing his satchel from the bed and rushing from the room. I rolled my eyes at how fast he high-tailed it out of the room. That's when Loki turned to me. "Want to explain?"
"Ah care to elaborate?" I swear there was steam coming from his ears. "What's the big deal anyway?"
"Are you even listening to yourself Andrea!?"
"Um hello? Of course I am. I'm the one who makes the decisions, not you. It's my life Loki, so let me run it my way." I walk over to my chest of drawers and open them, rummaging through them just to make myself look busy and unperturbed by what was happening. "And, what's the big deal anyway? It's not like you're practicing celibacy." Looking at him, he looked a bit shocked by that statement.
