"Everybody Lies." Dr. Gregory House, House M.D.
I'm back in New York. I'd say that it was good to be back... But that would be a lie. Since I've been back I haven't been allowed to go anywhere. So I've been spending my time watching TV; more specifically I've been watching House M.D. which is quite good. Tony frowns in confusion, I'm assuming at my choice of shows but I couldn't care less. I have to spend my time doing something and considering that no one is letting me do anything, I don't exactly have a lot of options to choose from.
Good news is that everyone that was somehow effected by my 'transition' has now gotten over it and are treating me the same way they were treating me before I had changed. I loved it; except for the attachment that is my brother. He kept shooting me looks that made him look smug and like he knew something I didn't. I almost punched the look off his face a few days ago but somehow I had managed to refrain from doing so.
"You know his theory is valid." I say to Loki while watching Dr. House be the annoying grouch that I've come to love.
"What theory is that?" Looking at my brother I see that he's reading a book that looks like it's in French. Just trying to figure out the title of the book was giving me a headache.
"About everyone lying." One of his oh, so perfect eyebrows rose and he lifted his eyes to look at me.
"And why is that?"
"Well think about. Everybody does lie. Whether it's because they don't want someone to find out something or because they never tell the truth, he makes a valid point that you can never gauge when someone is telling the truth."
"I can."
"Only because you can read their minds... that's cheating. If you were normal, you'd have just as much trouble deciphering between lie and truth just like the rest of us."
"I doubt that."
"If there was a way I could make you powerless for 24 hours I bet I could make you eat your words." I challenge. The bastard smirked.
"Would you now?" I narrow my eyes at him. "Well it just so happens that Banner has made some serum that will make my 'powers' unusable for 24 hours. Guess I can be the guinea pig for that can't I?" You know he'd never admit it, but I think that Loki is becoming a lot more human than he had originally planned. He's even speaking like one now.
"You're sounding rather human."
"Oh shut up." I giggle at him before he slaps me across the back of the head. Just because I could, I then lunge at him and wrestle him to the floor. Somewhere along the line the playful growling turned into giggling and laughing and by the end of it we were a panting mess on the ground with Tony recording us.
Suddenly my phone was ringing. I struggled to get untangled from my brother as Tony picked up my phone and answered with "You've reached 1800 BADASS, unfortunately all operators are bu-" He was cut off with a punch to the jaw. "Bloody hell! That hurt!"
"Next time answer your own damn phone Tinman." I sneer before grabbing my phone and placing it to my ear and adding in a sweeter voice. "Hello?" Laughter filled my ears from the other end of the phone.
"Hang on, I need a minute." A very familiar voice said breathlessly on the other end.
"Lillian!" I squeal. "My god it's good to hear your voice again."
"Good to hear yours too Andy." I frown at the nickname but don't comment, Andy still wasn't my favorite of nicknames but since Lillian was the only one to call me that I let it be.
