"I learned from my grandmother, who grew up in devastating war times, how important it is to keep with tradition and celebrate the holidays during tough times." Marcus Samuelsson

I was able to wake up on my own accord the next morning. The curtains were open, letting in the morning sun. I stretched and slowly sat up and looked around the room. I heard voices from outside. Getting up, I put on my jumper and walked over to the door. What I saw made me smile. Loki was playing with two other kids, maybe around 16 years old. They were laughing and having a good time on the basketball court.

Walking out, I walk to the fence surrounding the courts and watch them. The boy and girl were up against Loki by the look of it. They were almost his height too. Their parents must be tall people. I smiled when the boy managed to steal the ball and dribbled the ball the whole way across the court before scoring perfectly. I giggle and Loki turns to me with a grin. "Andrea! Come and join us." I walk onto the court.

"I'm not very good at basketball."

"They have me outnumbered." Loki pouts and I look at the two kids.

"They're kids."

"I resent that." The boy says. "Name's Jared, this is my sister Lois."

"It's nice to meet you. Are you here for a holiday too?"

"No. My dad runs this place. Not many people visit here during the summer months. It gets too hot. Mind you, that means we get the pool to ourselves then." I giggle again.

"Sounds good. I'll just watch, you guys continue playing." As soon as I said that Loki managed to the steal the ball and another round started as they all tried to get the ball through the hoop.

A few hours after, I noticed another man walking over to the courts. He smiled as he watched Loki, Jared and Lois playing. He must be the dad... The game soon ended when Jared and Lois finally managed to beat my brother by four points.

Loki was breathing heavily, which surprised me. Guess he can't go on forever without losing his breath. He walked over to me and helped me stand from the ground. We walked over to the man as he put Jared into a headlock and knuckled his head. I smile as they appeared to be enjoying themselves.

The man looked up when we got closer. "Hi, you must Andrea." I nod and shake his extended hand.

"That's me. It's a nice place you have here."

"Thank you. My wife would have loved to hear that. She did a lot of the designs for this place. Anyway, name's Logan. I see you've already met Jared and Lois."

"Yeah, they're great kids."

"They have their moments. School holidays are always great though." Jared and Lois ran from behind Logan. Shouting was heard before a massive splash sounded.

"JARED YOU IDIOT!" Logan rolls his eyes before turning and looking at his two kids. Lois squealed as Jared pulled her into the pool with a more dignified splash. "Jared!" Lois scrambles from the pool, her shirt now completely see through and Jared grinned.

"Where's your sense of fun?"

"Not in there. I'm going to go change." Lois stormed off and Logan shook his head.

"Those kids get along pretty well, though they still push each other past their limits at times." I nodded in understanding before Loki ran towards the pool, now only in swim shorts and cannonballs into the pool. I just stare at the pool before shaking my head.

"Sorry about him."

"That's nothing to be sorry about. The pool's there, he may as well use it." I smile and watch as Loki and Jared splash each other. "The kids will love that you guys are here. This place is like a ghost town during summer."
