I stirred the meat and vegetables until they finished cooking. I turned off the stove and shoveled the meat onto two plates. I carried the plates to a table and set them down before grabbing our drinks. Nova sat at the table and waited for me to join her. We dug into our food and talked.

"You're much different than I expected," Nova said.

"Why do you say that?"

"You have this caring side to you."

"Only to the ones who matter like you."

"What about your family?"

"I love my family, but I love you more."

"Does that mean you'll watch The Golden Girls with me?"

"I'll watch whatever you want."

Nova's face lit up like a kid on Christmas. I didn't care what we watched if I could spend time with her.

"So I was thinking about the heat suppressant pills. Do you think someone is distributing a heat enhancement within the club?" She asked.

"Are you thinking someone is bringing a substance to the club?"

"It would make sense. Didn't Ares cheat on Riley?"

I contemplated Nova's question. If someone brought enhancers to the club, they were causing problems among the club members. Someone wants to divide and conquer us.

My phone rang from the bedroom. I got up and answered it. "Yeah?"

"How far are you from the clubhouse?" My dad asked.

"We're still at the cottage. Why?"

"Mack found Alpha Larsen's scent near the territory. You need to keep Nova hidden until we can track Alpha Larsen. If he finds her, he will fucking breed her."
