Crash course and other nonsense

Nova

Genesis gave me a crash course in the supernatural world since my dad failed to do his job as a father. Oh, you know, like witches and vampires are our mortal enemies and all that other nonsense. I had to stop Genesis and grab a notebook and a pen to take notes. I doubt I would remember everything she told me.

I jotted notes in a spiral notebook while Genesis explained supernatural creatures and their abilities. It makes you wonder why no one can get along when they can do all these cool things so much for inclusion.

I smelled Kendall before I saw him, which is still weird to me. Luckily, he didn't stink. That would suck to have a stinky mate.

Kendall growled at me.

I lifted my face to him to see him arching his brow at me. "What?"

"Did you forget I can hear your thoughts now?"

"I was hoping you didn't hear that." I gave him a cheeky grin.

Kendall rolled his eyes before kissing me and sitting next to me. He glanced at my notebook. "What's that?"

"I'm taking notes to remember the information dump that Genesis is doing."

"You realize you have a mate now, right?"

"That thought hasn't escaped me. You forget my dad kept me in the dark for years. So I have to play catch-up with everything. I also think I figured out what's happening."

"Okay. What have you figured out?"

"Witches can't get near wolves without wolves detecting them. What if they're getting help?"

"You mean like a third party helping them?"

I nodded. "Think about it. They need help to screw with wolves. Who better than vampires?"

"How did you come to that conclusion?"

"It's something that Genesis told me. From the information she provided, vampires can trick people."

Kendall thought about what I said. "That makes sense, but you forget that wolves can detect vampires."

"Not unless vampires are using humans to do their bidding."

"We need to tell our dads."

"Why? So they can take credit for the answer? I don't think so."

Kendall shook his head at my comment. "Nova, they're alphas of packs. It's their job to know information to protect their packs."

"Fine, but if they take credit for what I discovered, they must have a Golden Girls  marathon." I stood up with my notebook and headed into the clubhouse.

Kendall followed me like the good little mate that he is. We reached Cress's office and told them what I discovered. I also told them they couldn't take credit for my answer. Cress didn't like my gumption.

Guess what we're doing?

We sat on the couches in the main room and watched my girl, Sophia, while eating cheesecake.

"Why the fuck are we watching this show?" Cress asked.

"You questioned Nova about her answer," Blaze said.

"This is good cheesecake," Gallic said.

Cress glared at Gallic.

"We have a rule at my clubhouse. If you question Nova when she's right, you have to watch a Golden Girls marathon," my dad said.

"Who the fuck came up with that idea?"

"Wren."

Everyone looked at Aunt Wren while I laughed at my girl Sophia.
