Nova

If I have learned anything since arriving in Stanwood, it is that I need to brush up on werewolves, witches, vampires, and other supernatural creatures. Apparently, these things didn't exist in books or movies as I thought they did. Then again, my dad was the president of a motorcycle club.

If I plan to survive with Ken Doll as my mate, I need backup. So, I enlisted Riley and Gianna to help me. That meant initiating them with my girls.

We watched The Golden Girls while eating popcorn on the couch. I explained each character to them.

"I like Dorothy," Riley said.

"I prefer Rose," Gianna said.

"Sophia is my girl," I added.

"So what's the deal with you and this show?" Riley asked.

"My dad was flipping through channels one day. When he flipped to reruns of The Golden Girls, I fell in love at first sight."

"What about kids' shows?" Gianna asked.

"Nope." I shook my head. "I love my girls."

"Did you and our brother work out your shit?" Riley asked.

"For the most part, we did. We still have our moments."

"Did he mention that he's attending college with us?"

I looked at Riley sideways. "No."

She nodded. "Dad thinks it's better if he learns about business before taking over the club. Mom agreed."

"I don't see a problem with learning more about a subject. What are you studying?"

"I haven't decided yet. I'm learning towards child development. I want to work with children."

I glanced at Gianna. "What are you studying?"

"Medicine. I figure the club will need a doctor."

"You're not wrong there." I snorted a laugh since the brothers and club girls usually need medical attention.

"Now that you and Kendall are mated, what's going to happen to the clubs?" Riley asked.

"I'm not sure yet. My dad hasn't said anything about a successor."

"What if your dad meets someone?"

I rolled my eyes. "I wish. My dad refuses to date anyone. It would take someone unique to handle his stubborn ass."

Riley and Gianna laughed. It was true. My dad was stubborn.

"So, what's going on with you and Ares?" I asked.

"Nothing." Riley shrugged. "He had his chance and blew it."

"Are you sure it was his choice?"

"It doesn't matter." She shook her head. "People could have stopped it from happening. They chose not to do anything. It's one reason why I avoid the clubhouse and brothers. They're as guilty as Ares is."

I didn't press the issue further since it wouldn't change Riley's mind.

Since Nova and my sisters were at my house, I hung out with Ares and Gael at Ares's place. The clubhouse was out after what went down on Ares's eighteenth birthday.

"What are you going to do about Riley?" Gael asked Ares.

"What can I do? She won't fucking talk to me." Ares sat back against the couch, arms folded, and threw his head back.
