Jungkook knew that whatever had happened back in Taehyung’s room was terribly wrong.

Unconsciously, his fingers brushed against his lips. He felt vulnerable—exposed.
It was wrong. So wrong.
Yet, somehow… it felt so right.

He knew the feelings Taehyung had for him weren’t just dangerous—they were life-threatening for both of them.
And Jungkook didn’t know what to do… or who to unleash this storm of confusion and frustration on.

That’s why he was here.
Standing in front of the only person who had ever truly guided him.

“Uncle…” Jungkook mumbled, voice low.
Jinsoo offered him a small, understanding smile.

“Don’t worry. Hana and Jaehyun don’t know you’re here,” Jinsoo said gently.
Jungkook swallowed hard. He didn’t even know how to begin explaining what was tearing him apart inside.

“I did something so wrong… I don’t know… I don’t know how to fix it… how to undo it…”
His voice broke, eyes shimmering with unshed tears. Jinsoo was the only one who had ever seen Jungkook like this—crying, shouting, vulnerable.

And Jungkook wasn’t afraid to show it to him again.
Because Jinsoo wasn’t just a guardian. He was like a father.

“Shhh… You did nothing wrong,” Jinsoo said softly. “Tell me what happened?”

But his next question shattered Jungkook completely.

“Are… are you in love with someone?”
Jinsoo hesitated to ask—but it was the only thing he could think of that would break Jungkook down like this.

“N-no.”
Jungkook’s answer came quickly. Stubborn. Almost defensive.
Even he didn’t know what he felt for Taehyung. But he was sure it wasn’t… that. Not attraction. Not like that.

Jinsoo sighed in relief.
“Then what made you like this?”
Because the consequences of Jungkook falling in love again… terrified him.

“I hate… I hate how my life has turned out.”
Jungkook’s voice was raspy, strained.

“Taehyung… he’s… he’s lost his mind,” Jungkook said, and the kiss flashed through his mind again like a haunting echo.

“What happened to him? Is he okay?”
Jinsoo’s voice grew sharper with concern.

“I don’t know. I know nothing.”
Jungkook’s voice was hollow. He didn’t know what he was saying anymore.

“Jungkook… I’m trying to understand, I really am. But listen…”
Jinsoo placed a calming hand on his shoulder.
“We’re all afraid of something. Sometimes of everything.”

He held Jungkook’s gaze.

“But some things… are worth the risk.”

Jungkook slowly raised his head, glassy eyes locking with Jinsoo’s.

“Even if the risk is… death?”
His voice cracked as he asked the question.
All he could picture was Taehyung—bathed in blood. And it terrified him more than death itself.

“Jungkook, what happened?”
Jinsoo dropped to his knees, placing both hands firmly on Jungkook’s trembling shoulders.
“You’ve never sounded like this before. Please—what happened?”
