"Stop this, Kitty! I’ll never let Taehyung go back to that bastard again! Snap my head off or do whatever you want for speaking this low about our King—but he doesn’t deserve Taehyung!" Jimin yelled as Yoongi tried to calm him down.
Right now, Jimin was furious at Taehyung—not because he hated him, but because of how easily Taehyung had forgiven Jungkook. He couldn’t believe how innocent and blindly in love Taehyung could be.
Jimin wanted to talk to Taehyung and confront him. He wanted to tell him that his decision was reckless. But Yoongi didn’t want Jimin to mess with Taehyung’s mind—especially after the conversation Yoongi had with Jungkook the night before.
That talk had changed something in Yoongi.
He saw it now—Jungkook did care for Taehyung more than anything else in this world. He loved Taehyung more than he loved himself.
"How do you know Jungkook doesn’t deserve Taehyung?" Yoongi asked seriously this time, his voice low but firm. He was done with people jumping to conclusions.
"I know!" Jimin snapped. "You don’t understand what Taehyung’s been through. I do! I’ve seen his pain closer than anyone! I was there every single time to wipe his heart-wrenching tears. And when I wasn’t, Namjoon was. But even that bastard—he took Taehyung for granted! He used him! He broke him!"
Jimin’s fists were clenched, his entire body shaking with the storm inside him. He wasn’t just angry. He was protective. Too protective.
"And just like no one knows Taehyung’s suffering better than you," Yoongi said calmly, stepping closer, "no one knows Jungkook’s suffering better than me. Hell—even I don’t know how deep his pain runs. Because he’s never let it show."
"But Taehyung never made Jungkook suffer," Jimin argued. "It was the other way around. Jungkook made Taehyung suffer. So where’s the comparison?"
"Jimin..." Yoongi reached out, gently holding his hand. The moment their hands touched, Jimin felt his anger begin to melt away. That single gesture was grounding.
"One day..." Yoongi began, his voice trembling slightly, "if we both love each other so much... and we have kids together... and then something tragic happens... and I don’t survive..."
"Why—why are you talking like this?" Jimin stuttered, already feeling his eyes sting. The mere thought was unbearable.
"Just a what-if, love... just a what-if," Yoongi whispered. "Tell me... how long would it take you to move on?"
Jimin bit his trembling lower lip, staring into Yoongi’s eyes.
"I’ll never let anything happen to you," he choked, gripping Yoongi’s hand tighter.
Yoongi gave him a soft, pained smile. "I know. But just say... if something ever did. How long?"
Tears slipped from Jimin’s eyes, and his voice cracked as memories flooded in—memories of when his mother had died... how Yoongi had stayed by his side every second without even blinking.
"My entire lifetime..." Jimin whispered. "I... I can’t imagine anyone else in my life if it’s not you. You were there when no one else was. When I had no one... you gave me your shoulder to cry on. I can’t move on from that. Ever..."
“Now I hope you’ll understand Jungkook a little better,” Yoongi said, his voice low and heavy.
“At least you had Taehyung... your friend. Jungkook had no one. He was seen as a monster by this world—when in truth, it was the world that was monstrous to him.”
Jimin listened silently, his chest tightening.
“Those people... they called him a monster and yet acted like one. They tortured him for hundreds of years. No one ever stood beside him... until Eira.”
Yoongi’s eyes softened, clouded by painful memories.
“She accepted him for who he was. She gave him a reason to live. She stood against the entire society for him.”
“So he gave her everything. His heart. His loyalty. His soul. They fell in love. They had Jaehyun. And just when things finally began to feel light in Jungkook’s life...” Yoongi's voice cracked slightly, “she was murdered. Right in front of his eyes... with his other child still in her womb.”
Jimin's lips parted in shock, but no sound escaped.
“She died because of the curse Jungkook’s own father tied to his fate,” Yoongi continued, his voice bitter now.
“And Jungkook... even after being the most powerful among us, was utterly powerless in front of that curse. He couldn’t save her.”
Yoongi stared ahead, a tear slipping down.
“Tell me, Jimin... how easy do you think it was for Jungkook to move on?”
Jimin didn’t answer.
“The Moon Goddess gave him a blessing,” Yoongi said slowly. “But to him, that blessing was just another curse.”
“What was the blessing?” Jimin asked hesitantly.
Yoongi clenched his fists, conflicted. He had vowed never to reveal it. But this was Jimin—and maybe it was time people knew the full truth.
“The blessing...” he whispered, “was that he’d be able to form another bond again. But...”
He looked straight into Jimin’s eyes.
“Only with someone who shares the blood of his enemies—the same blood that killed his mate... that murdered every reason he had to live.”
Jimin gasped, backing slightly.
“He tried, Jimin. He wanted to move on. But every vampire he ever dated from the enemy territory... they died. One by one. None of them survived.”
“But... how? How can a curse override a blessing from the Moon Goddess herself?” Jimin asked, stunned.
“We don’t know,” Yoongi murmured.
“That’s why Jungkook was afraid to love Taehyung. That’s why he pushed him away, again and again. Because if the enemies ever find out about them—about their bond—we don’t know what kind of destruction it would unleash.”
Yoongi’s voice trembled now.
“Jimin... Jungkook has fought for everyone his entire life. But no one... no one ever fought for him the way Taehyung does.”
“No one loved him this deeply. No one touched his soul like Taehyung.”
Jimin wiped his tears, breath shaking.
“And I pray...” Yoongi whispered, “I pray nothing happens to Taehyung when the war breaks out.”
He took a long breath, eyes clouded with dread.
“Because if they find out... that curse will awaken. And then, nothing—not even the Moon Goddess—will be able to reverse it.”
A heavy silence fell.
“That curse...” Yoongi whispered, almost to himself, “...it’ll bring havoc.”
