Two days...
Two days had passed since Taehyung last saw Jungkook. He was like a wilted flower now—drained and lifeless. Everyone was concerned about his health. In just two days, it was as if his soul had left his body.
Jaehyun remained silent. He had handed over every decision related to Taehyung to Hana, the boy's biological parent.
He was heartbroken—crushed by the fact that the boy he had raised as his own, the reason he never had children with Hana, so the boy would never feel less than—now knew the truth. The boy... Taehyung... knew everything.
Taehyung had tried calling Jungkook, searching for him everywhere like a lost child looking for his guardian. But he never found him. Exhausted, Taehyung let his negative thoughts and insecurities consume him.
"Get up. I’ve packed your bags," Hana said coldly. Taehyung lay curled on the bed, his body wrapped in a blanket, eyes void of emotion—only silent tears slipping down his cheeks.
"We're leaving. We're going to Grandfather Jinsoo’s. You're coming with me." As soon as Hana said the words, Taehyung sprung up and looked at her.
"No... I'm not going anywhere," Taehyung replied firmly, making Hana glare at him.
"You are! Don’t force me to become the person I don’t want to be!" she shouted. But Taehyung stared back, just as fearless.
"Lower your gaze, Jeon Taehyung. The man you're waiting for is never going to come back to accept you!" Hana snapped—and those words shattered Taehyung.
"How are you so sure? He... he will... he will come. He told me that he’d never hurt me... never make me cry..." Taehyung spoke, his voice trembling.
Hana let out a sarcastic chuckle. It pained her too—seeing her son this desperate—but she herself was battling a storm inside her mind.
"How am I sure?" she shouted, her voice rising with emotion. "Because the man you claim to love is literally mourning his lover’s death over her grave!"
Taehyung froze. His breath hitched, and his body jerked back in shock. Tears streamed from his eyes at the words he had just heard.
"Taehyung... His Excellency is nowhere else but at Lady Eira’s grave... apologizing for the sins he committed and for betraying her." This time, Hana's voice softened. She couldn’t bear the sight of Taehyung like this—so broken, so shattered.
"Why..." Taehyung sobbed, his hand clutching the pendant Jungkook had given him.
"Stop this madness!" Hana shouted, her voice sharp as she stepped forward and yanked the pendant from Taehyung’s neck with such force that it left a cut across his skin.
Hana froze, her breath catching when she saw blood trickling down his neck. Her eyes filled with tears. She was afraid—afraid of so many things—and that fear was driving her insane... insane enough to hurt her own son.
She turned away, throwing the pendant to the far corner of the room, not letting Taehyung see her tears.
"I’m waiting outside. Your luggage is already there..." she said quickly, before walking out.
Taehyung slowly got up from the bed and walked to the corner where the pendant had landed. He knelt down, picked it up gently, tears falling onto the black dahlia attached to it.
