Two days had passed since the attack.

Jaehyun and Hana were devastated when they saw Taehyung’s condition.
Hana hadn't stopped crying until the moment Taehyung opened his eyes again. Her hands never left his, as if she'd lose him forever if she let go.

Jaehyun, on the other hand, was seething.
Fury burned in his veins—not just at the wolves who dared to lay a hand on Taehyung, but at the audacity of a direct assault within their own territory.

Jimin wasn’t doing well either.

Losing his mother shattered something inside him.
Even now, it felt like a nightmare he couldn’t wake from. He barely ate, barely spoke.
Thankfully, Yoongi was there, offering quiet comfort and a shoulder to cry on—never asking questions, just being there.

---

“Appa…” Jaehyun’s voice broke the silence in the council room.
“I don’t think we should sit and wait for the next attack. I personally inspected the boundaries. The patrolling is tight—unbreakable even—but…”

He paused.

“There’s a hidden passage near the old river trail. We can use it to pierce their territory silently.”

Jungkook turned to him, his gaze sharp.

Seokjin added, “Jaehyun is right, Your Excellency. We can’t keep delaying.
The tension is heavy—it’s like standing on the edge of a war that’s already started. If we don’t move first, they will.
This is it now… survival or extinction—for all of us.”

Jungkook knew they were right.

He had to kill Sungjae—before Sungjae found out the truth.

If Sungjae discovered that Taehyung was potentially his bond, the curse would intensify beyond control.
And once it grew, saving Taehyung—or defeating Sungjae—might become impossible.

But taking down Sungjae wasn’t just difficult—it was near-suicidal.

He wasn’t just a True Blood Alpha. His mate was a True Blood Omega, making them almost invincible when united.

---

Jungkook closed his eyes for a moment as a sharp throb pierced through his skull. His headache had worsened.
It felt like his mind was splitting open under the pressure.

He exhaled deeply and gave a small nod.

“I agree. But we do this right. We make a strategy first. I won’t allow innocent lives to be caught in this.
Only Sungjae, his mate, and those directly involved will face us.”

He winced again, pressing his fingers to his temple. He hadn’t seen Taehyung since the incident.
Hana hadn’t left his side even once. And Jungkook didn’t have the heart—or the authority—to force her away.

---

“Jaehyun,” Jungkook continued after a pause, voice slightly hoarse, “Sungjae knows about Hana. That puts her in danger.
I need you to protect her—and she can’t stay here.”

Jaehyun frowned. “But Appa… if she’s not here at the mansion, then where would she be safe?”

Seokjin also looked concerned, nodding.

“If I can be attacked here,” Jungkook said quietly, “then she’s an easy target.
The only place safer than this is Uncle Jinsoo’s fortress. We all know that.”
