Starting a Bookclub Together (Haikyuu Headcanons)

**A/N: I'm trying something different by writing headcanons for some of the characters! Please request if your favorite character isn't included in this list and you'd like to see them in future headcanon chapters! ^^

Prompt: Being a total bookworm and asking them to start a bookclub with you!

KARASUNO:

Hinata Shoyo: 

You'd always talked to Hinata about your love for books, and he tried his best to pay attention, but those fantasy worlds you would describe felt out of reach to him.  He could, however, understand your sheer excitement.  Once you suggested the idea of a bookclub at school, he excitedly matched your energy and agreed to help you scout members to join.  He'd make Kageyama, Tsukki, Yamaguchi, and Yachi join by force. He thought you looked your best when you were doing what you were passionate about. 

Kageyama Tobio:

Kageyama isn't much of a reader, but he enjoyed the times you two would silently work on things side-by-side.  Often you'd read a book while he reviewed game plays from previous matches.  When you told him your idea for a bookclub, he thought it would take a lot of work but thought it'd be good for you to be in a school club of your own.  You'd shared with him how envious you were that he always had his volleyball team to rely on and hang out with.  So he found this the perfect opportunity for you to get involved and lead your own project! 

Tsukishima Kei:

Secretly, Tsukishima was happy you had found something you wanted to invest in.  He made a funny comment like "oh, so you're trying to gather all the nerds under one roof?", but he knew the types of books you read would not be attracting just the nerds.  Whenever you offered to accompany him while he studied, he sometimes would lean over and sneak a few glances at your book, ears turning red at the scenes you sometimes read.  What scared him the most is how you could keep your composure and read stories like that with a straight face.  "So does this mean you'll be the Smut Club President?"

Yamaguchi Tadashi:

Yamaguchi loved the idea! He decided he wanted to be your club's first official member and helped you brainstorm ideas and themes for your meetings.  He even began researching on his own on popular books to include in the monthly reading lists.  When you both entered high school, he was fascinated with how much time you spent reading.  When you had first recommended him a book, he started reading it for fun until going through book after book became a hobby. 

Nishinoya Yuu: 

"A bookclub?  Like reading but for fun?" Noya asked to make sure.  He studied your serious expression and cracked a grin.  "I'll join if we get to read some cool stuff.  Not just those silly books we're forced to read for literature class." You made him read some steamy passages from your romance books, and he immediately got excited.  "So when's our first meeting?"  He also starts developing a passion for manga and light novels since he enjoys the pictures. 

Tanaka Ryuunosuke: 

You ran the idea by him on a walk home from school, and Tanaka literally paused in his tracks to stare at you with a soft smile on his face.  "If you want to start something up, I'll gladly help ya out!"  Tanaka knew better than anyone what a support you'd been to him and the volleyball team for practice and tournaments.  All this time, he felt guilty he couldn't invest that same caring energy back into you, but now you'd given him the perfect opportunity.  He nudged your side, playfully.  "Come over to my house, and we'll set everything up!"
