Those darn romance shows.  The main leads always seemed to know exactly what to do after confessing to each other.  Suddenly, they could hold hands and cuddle and kiss like there was no tomorrow.  But now you and Kageyama sat opposite each other in a coffee shop–the tension so thick, you could cut it.  The quiet boy had just confessed, and you'd just accepted his feelings.  But now what?

Leaving the café, you weren't sure whether to hold his hand or to plant a kiss on his cheek after he dropped you off at your place.  The transition from friends to lovers was proving to be way harder than you anticipated.

"I'm telling you, it's so awkward," you buried your face your palms.  "I don't know what to do, Kiyoko."

Your queen of a best friend was perched beside you on your sofa, listening to your story intently.  To you, Kiyoka was the goddess of relationship advice.  Her wisdom was unparalleled and had helped many of your other friends.  Now you were hoping she could save you.

"Invite him over.  Maybe watch a movie?  Or cook together?  I think you need some sort of bonding activity," she scribbled ideas on her notepad.  "Those activities create instances where you could initiate contact."

The way she'd said "contact" made you blush as images of your boyfriend flashed through your mind.  For months, you and Kageyama had awkwardly interacted with each other.  The two of you were vaguely of your crushes on each other, but neither of you were confident enough to act on it until all of Kageyama's friends gave him a nudge.

"The more you hang out together, the closer you'll grow," Kiyoko pat your shoulder.  "Text him now!  The boys don't have practice this evening, so he could come over."

With trembling hands, you reached for your phone.  What if Kageyama didn't feel comfortable coming to your place?  Being alone with you?  But Kiyoko was right–if you didn't make a move, who would?

Bzzt.

"OMG OPEN IT!"

"IT'S FROM Y/N!  WHAT DOES IT SAY?"

"Such a loser, tsk.  Open it already, King."

Kageyama and the rest of the volleyball boys clustered around him, eagerly waiting to see what you had sent.  The grumpy setter had just been unloading how the two of you were so stiff whenever you were around each other.  And he wanted advice on how to make things more comfortable.  Maybe opening this text from you was step 1.

Y/N: Hey Tobio, do you wanna come over later?  We could watch a movie ;)

Y/N: OMG I'M SO SORRY! MY THUMB SLIPPED AND I PRESSED THE WRONG EMOJI T_T

"What do I say?" Kageyama frantically looked at Daichi–probably the most reliable man in the room.  If anything, the smirking emoji had him internally panicking.

Daichi leaned back on his forearms and closed his eyes in thought.  "First of all, accept Y/N's offer.  It must have taken a lot of courage to send that message based on what you've told us."

Kageyama shot back a curt "sure" before nearly flinging his phone across the room.  He had never dated before (if you couldn't tell), and all these new feelings excited him.  This was different than the rush he felt while playing volleyball.

"Ooh, I have an idea!" Tanaka shot up from his spot.  "Here's what you should do."

A few hours later, there was a knock on your front door, and you held your breath as you let Kageyama in.
