i'm watching lee suho bob his head, paired with the shrugging of his shoulders. there's a lack of complementary music, so it looks a bit awkward that he's practicing the 'growl' choreography in front of a packed auditorium. he's staring off into the blank stage of the ginormous room where the saebom festival talent show is currently ongoing. we're having a brief intermission as student council members clean up the confetti and glitter from the previous magic act.

we're seated in the front row of the auditorium, right behind the table of judges which consist of two faculty members, myungsoo and another student council member.

myungsoo has joined our little group that has convened in the first row for a brief chat.

"and what about you? what are your plans for college?" myungsoo asks, to which i tear my eyes away from suho. my best friend has a backwards cap on his head, paired with the matching white button-up under the grey suit that he's forced everyone in his talent show group to wear.

"i'm hoping to pursue a dance major and maybe become a dance studio instructor. it doesn't sound that cool, but i'm just grateful to pursue dance," i tell him, with a grin on my face. he's wearing a simple, white button-up shirt, paired with black slacks. his eyes follow mine as i look back to chorong, taehoon, hyunkyu and seojun who are dressed exactly like suho.

suho is now forcing a backwards cap onto seojun's head right now as my boyfriend protests after having the material push down on his hair, effectively flattening it to where his fringe covers his eyes.

"i'm doing a bit of research right now and practicing on my own time to submit my application videos when the time comes," i can't help but suppress a laugh as i watch jugyeong instruct suho to sit, and she touched up his face with some cosmetics. he is all but rolling his eyes, earning snickers from our friends standing around him.

"that sounds very admirable. if nothing works out, you can come abroad with me to the states. that way you can dodge the college entrance exam entirely," he jokes and i shake my head with laughter. "with what grades?" i give his arm a shove to which he pretends to wince.

"are we trying to recreate my sister with junghyun when she followed him to the states?  she still talks about how torturous it was to go without authentic korean food," i retort, but both our smiles drop quickly at the mention of a name that has become taboo. junghyun, that bastard.

"i wish i knew where the hell he's run off to. my dad's so angry at him because he's already gifted your family an engagement dowry, but he's so prideful that he's not one to take it back," he combs a stressed hand through his hair.

"i'm sorry to hear that. it's probably taken a blow to your dad's reputation, especially considering that he's a politician. although, i don't really see a resemblance between you and him," i mutter the last part, scanning my eyes over his face.

"we don't have the same mom, that's probably why. but we can agree i'm the more handsome one," he gives a grin, with his dimples peeking out from his cheeks. "anyone's better looking than that fool," i say with confidence.

the intermission ends, so he returns to his seat and i return to mine next to seojun. he's glaring at suho as he struggles to fix his hair, and i laugh before grabbing him by the chin.

with my right hand placed under his jaw, i pull him forward so that i can smooth out the strands that are out of place. "that dickhead just had to put that cap on my head. i can't even see because it puts my bangs in my eyes," he grumbles, as i chuckle lightly. jugyeong has also helped him put on light makeup, to which he absolutely objected to. he was only convinced after she reminded me that one, suho had a bit of makeup as well, and two, she swore on juyoung's life that she wouldn't make him look bad.
