the lee's driver pulled in front of the han's mansion, and minho got out of the back seat.
being here without his parents felt...a bit awkward, but since his parents were on a trip to Spain, and mrs. han invited him for a dinner herself, he didn't really have a chance to refuse.
minho walked up to the door, and rang a doorbell. moments later, the door opened, mrs. han standing there with the most welcoming smile.
"hello, minho."
she said, stepping aside and letting minho in.
minho bowed.
"thank you for inviting me."
"of course! you're basically like my son, and since your parents are away, it must be frustrating being home alone."
mrs. han waved her hand, before she started walking further into the house, minho right behind her.
"but I must warn you, there won't be just junho, my husband, me and you. my second son will join us as well, and junho has his friends over. I'm telling you so you wouldn't be surprised."
minho nodded.
"thank you."
and mrs. han wasn't lying.
around the table already sat five people.
junho, jisung, mr. han, and the two guys he saw at the skate park.
so they were junho's friends at the end?
"everyone, our guest arrived!"
mrs. han clapped her hands, getting everyone's attention.
and suddenly, all eyes were on minho.
and he did start to feel awkward.
he bowed slightly.
"hello, thank you for letting me join your dinner."
"of course."
mr. han said, letting himself be more comfortable in his chair.
minho's eyes traveled to jisung, only to find out he was already looking at minho, his eyes doe, and his eyebrows raised slightly.
jisung obviously didn't know minho was coming, his face proved that.
"come sit minho, there is an empty space next to junho."
mrs. han encouraged him.
minho nodded, and sat in the empty seat, feeling a bit out of place. the food started to come out, and the maids put plates with amazing looking steak with baked potatoes and asparagus in front of every person.
"so minho, where did your parents leave to?"
mr. han asked.
"to Spain. they left today early in the morning."
minho said politely.
"wow, what are you gonna do at your house the entire week you have it for yourself? don't you dare throw any parties."
mrs. han joked.
junho's eyes sparkled slightly at the mention of a party, and jisung noticed that.
he snorted.
"idiot."
jisung whispered to himself.
"what was that jisung?"
mrs. han asked.
"yummy. I said the food was yummy."
jisung tried to play, putting a piece of asparagus in his mouth.
"it is, indeed. thank you for allowing us to stay for dinner."
yeonjun said.
"you're welcome."
mrs. han gave him a polite smile.
she wasn't the biggest fan of junho's friends, but if they were polite, she would be polite back.
suddenly, soobin speared all his asparagus with a fork and put it on jisung's plate.
jisung's eyes widened slightly.
"what are you doing?"
"you like asparagus."
soobin stated.
"or don't you?"
"I do, very much. but won't you miss it?"
jisung pouted slightly.
"it's okay. I don't have to have it. I'm not the biggest fan of it anyway. just eat."
soobin smiled, lightly ruffling jisung's hair.
he was lying tho. he very much liked asparagus, and enjoyed eating it.
but jisung liked it more, and that was important.
jisung had the biggest smile on his face as he started eating the new gained deliciousness, clearly very happy about it.
minho furrowed his eyebrows slightly, looking at jisung, then at soobin, back to jisung, and then back at soobin, looking him up and down.
that guy couldn't be more obvious.
minho thought, putting a piece of stake in his mouth.
but he couldn't shake off the feeling that he was currently experiencing. he wasn't exactly...the biggest fan of the way jisung smiled at that guy.
was it...soobin?
jisung was telling him about these two.
well, he was telling him about them when Minho thought he was junho.
awkward silence fell on the table.
minho and junho couldn't seem to find anything to bring up, yeonjun and soobin were too scared to say something, and jisung didn't really pay attention to the table. it was all on his asparagus.
"so, you're going to be graduating this year, aren't you minho?"
mrs. han suddenly asked.
minho nodded.
"that's right."
"are you planning on taking over the company?"
mr. han asked.
"i don't think that I will take it over this soon, I will get it once my parents decide to retire. but I do believe my father will give me a position in the company until then, he has been training me from young age for that."
minho said.
"ah, I agree. giving your company to twenty year old out of school isn't the greatest idea. we will also wait before we give junho the group."
mr. han said.
a fork fell on the ground.
"wait, what?"
junho asked, his eyes widened slightly.
"you're not planning on giving me the group right after I'm out of school?"
mrs. han shook her head.
"we're gonna wait until you mature a bit. when you find a nice wife or husband and start a family. I thought you already knew that?"
jisung looked at his brother worriedly. he knew that getting the group was junho's biggest wish, and hearing that he will actually have to settle down must have broken him.
because to be honest, junho never wanted to settle down. he wanted to be independent leader of the group, make important decisions, and not care about anything. so this revolution must have been a punch to the gut.
the conversation between minho and the Han's continued, but junho was now looking on the food on his plate, his appetite gone.
jisung wasn't sure what to do, but he knew that he had to calm his brother down somehow, and get him in a better mood.
gosh, when will this dinner finally end?
