"nice work today guys, see you tomorrow?"
chan said, packing his stuff.
"can't. tomorrow I'm going to han's for family dinner or something."
minho said, throwing his bag over his shoulder.
"well aren't you excited? you're gonna see junho again."
hyunjin asked.
"no, not really."
minho shrugged.
"don't get me wrong, I'm really excited to see him, it's more like we can't act like we normally do when it's just the two of us, and we have to be more formal, so it won't be that much fun. and I'm also terrified of his parents, especially his mom."
"that's true."
chan nodded.
"but hey, maybe the dinner will go smoothly. why exactly is the reason for it?"
"well, apparently to get the families more closer since everything is going so well between me and junho."
minho said, holding the door for his two friends.
"they expect us to start dating soon."
"don't act like you don't like that."
hyunjin teased.
"it's more like I don't like how they're pushing."
minho said.
"I know that me and junho were introduced so junho could get into a relationship and calm down, but firstly, that doesn't mean we actually start dating, and if we eventually do get together, I would be worried it would be only because of our parents, especially his. and secondly, I don't even think he needs to calm down. he's literally too shy to order anything, why would a guy like that need to calm down."
"that's weird."
hyunjin furrowed his eyebrows.
"exactly."
minho nodded.
"when my parents told me about the date, they introduced junho like a wild person, who doesn't have any worries in his head, nor any cares. but when I actually met him for the first time, he was a complete opposite. sweetheart, polite, very sweet and nice. the entire date was super comfortable, and we saw each other for the first time. I just don't get it. whenever I mention junho to someone who knows him, they always talk about how big of a weirdo and a freak he is, but that's not him at all."
"is he bipolar or something dude?"
hyunjin chuckled.
"maybe he has a personality disorder."
"or maybe he has just changed and people haven't seen him in his new light yet."
chan shrugged.
"look minho, the important thing is that you like him how he is."
minho nodded.
"you're right."
the three of them made their way out of the gym they're always dancing at, not giving junho much more thought.
and in a way, minho was grateful.
that was until they walked past a skate park.
they were talking about the new expensive shoes hyunjin saved up for, when minho suddenly stopped when he saw a familiar face.
"hey, what's wrong?"
chan asked, confused.
"that is junho."
minho pointed with his jaw, a bit confused.
because junho did NOT look like junho.
ripped skater jeans, while wearing a huge hoodie that had a skeleton on it. he was sitting on one of the ramps, talking with two guys minho had no idea who were, while smoking cigarette.
"when you said that he was a cute guy with adorable smile, I did not imagine him to look like this."
hyunjin chuckled slightly.
minho furrowed his eyebrows.
he just didn't feel like the junho he knows.
not by the looks, and not by his vibes.
"let's just...let's just continue."
at the same time, junho looked at soobin.
"so, any progress with my brother?"
soobin wasn't amused.
"I think you would know."
"look, I shouldn't be telling you this, because I want my brother to find himself a nice guy, but the best way to break in trough jisung's shell is to show that you care, and that he's safe with you. our parents always preferred me, and even tho he doesn't want to admit it, it did leave a scar on him. he needs to feel appreciated, and special, and if you can do that, you can shoot your shot."
junho said.
"what are you suggesting then?"
soobin asked.
"damn soobin, is there even a tiny drop of romanticism in you?"
junho snorted.
"maybe the next time we're at my house, buy him his favorite tea and bring it to him. jisung has a weakness for tea, and i noticed he's almost out of it."
soobin nodded.
"what's his favorite tea then?"
"he loves jasmine tea. but not the teabags, loose tea is the way to go. it's more expensive tho, so maybe just buy the teabags and try your luck, he will appreciate anything if it's a tea."
junho said, throwing his cigarette away.
"but I'm telling you one thing. if this whole thing actually works out and jisung will give you a chance, I'm gonna break your arms if you hurt him."
"I would never-"
"I know you soobin, don't try this bullshit on me."
junho interrupted him.
"I love you dude, but even you can be an asshole. so if jisung gets hurt because of you, I won't let it slide."
saying that, he stood up.
"gotta go now, have fun!"
"damn dude, you know damn well that he's serious right?"
yeonjun said, watching junho walk away.
"yeah."
soobin sighed.
"you sure you want to go for it? is jisung really worth risking a painful trip to the hospital?"
yeonjun looked at soobin.
"I would never hurt jisung."
soobin said.
"I might be an asshole, but not to him."
yeonjun smiled.
"you know what? i hope you're gonna get him."
soobin returned the smile.
"thank you."
