The corridors of Mewar Fort had long gone quiet. Only the low hum of torches and the distant murmur of night guards disturbed the hush. The moon hung pale and full beyond the lattice windows, casting silver pools of light across the polished floors.

Rana Rudradev Rathore, fresh from council meetings that had stretched too late, walked the silent hallways with uncharacteristic restlessness.

The day had been long; disputes, reports, strategies yet his mind refused to still. Ever since the Shiv Pooja and her presence in the court, Aaryavika had been an unshakable thought at the back of his mind.

He had seen something in her gaze, a quiet fire, the kind that burned beneath calm waters.

As he passed the old wing of the palace, a faint light flickered through the carved wooden doors of the royal library.

Raat ke iss peher? He frowned.

At this hour?

Only scholars came here by day and even they feared disturbing the scrolls of Mewar's lineage after sunset.

Curiosity and something else quieter, drew him in.

Inside, the air was heavy with sandalwood and old parchment. Rows of scrolls and ledgers glowed faintly in lamplight.

And there, seated at the long teak table, was Aaryavika.

Her veil was cast aside, a few strands of hair escaping the braid that fell over her shoulder. She was bent over a parchment map of Mewar's border, tracing routes and trade paths with the feather tip of a quill.

The lamp beside her painted her face in warm gold; the curve of her cheek, the steady concentration in her eyes. She looked nothing like the jeweled bride he had first seen. And everything like the queen he had not expected to have.

He stood silently for a moment, almost reluctant to disturb her.

"Hume lagane laga tha ki aaj raat mahal ke bhoot bechain hain. Lekin ab hame pata chala ki yeh sirf hamari rani hai." Rudradev said, his voice barely a pitch over whisper.

I had begun to think the palace ghosts were restless tonight. But I find it is only my queen.

Startled, she turned, though her composure recovered almost instantly.

"Maaf kijeye, Ranasa. Hume neend nahi aa rahi thi. Yahan ki shaanti... darbar ki fusfusaahat se zyada dayaalu hai." Aaryavika said softly, without rising from her seat.

Forgive me, Ranasa. I couldn't sleep. The silence here is... kinder than the whispers of the court.

"Aap inn naksho ki sangat darbaariyon se behtar samajhti hai?" Rudradev said, stepping closer to her.
